It does seem that Game Informer hates the Wii. I've read the magazine alot and it's rare to see them write something good about the Wii.
Yeah, I've noticed this after years of reading the magazine. It's a bit funny, because you see it repeated over and over.
I stop subscribing.So I have no idea.
I dont trust them anyway.

And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Wait... there's still game magazines out there?!?
I remember the good old days of tearing through issues of GamePro, EGM, NextGen and Diehard GameFan (my personal fav) every month in order to get my gaming news fix. Never read too much of Game Informer though, but I do remember alot of magazines in the mid-90's seemed to be somewhat pro-Sony once the PlayStation was released, and the Saturn usually got a bad rap from alot of review magazines. N64 was somewhere in the middle, but gaming mags back then definitely had alot of love for Sony.
I haven't bothered to read gaming magazines regularly since the PS2 was released, because by then websites like IGN, Gamespot, Daily Radar (i miss them) etc. were breaking all the big gaming news well before magazines hit the newsstands.

Agreed... Nintendo Power hasn't been relevant for me since the late 90's. They became a total waste when they changed their whole image and became more kiddy and wouldn't even cover M-rated titles.

I believe GI made a comment that if Nintendo were to release Wii Sports 2, they would use it as a Frisbee disc. They clearly don't even attempt to hide their hate.
Also, they're very annoyed about comments that the game magazine business is dying as they wrote up an editorial claiming to have up to 3 million subscribers and use that as proof to say otherwise. Obviously they conveniently ignore the fact that subscribers just get the magazine as a bonus from buying the Edge cards.

THe ironic thing in that is that there is a game in Wii Sports 2 where ya throw a frisbee.
Are they biased against Wii? Yea you can tell. Lack of articles on Wii games, lack of previews of Wii games, and only good reviews on Wii games that are traditional. This really insn't that surprising as a lot of online media sites do the exact same thing. Do I still read GI? I get it free with my Gamestop card so yea hah.

I don't think its because wii is the best (I assume you mean in first place) that the gaming media hates them; after all, there was plenty of love for PS2 last gen. I think it is for several reasons...
First of all, Nintendo has been telling the media they won't play the media's game since before this generation began. Remember all the interviews in 2005 and 2006 where various interviewers begged Nintendo to tell them the specs of the Wii, and Nintendo continually refused?
Second of all, is the fact that the some members of the media keep making fools of themselves with their predictions of doom and gloom for Nintendo. Rather than look inward for the reasons they were wrong, they get mad at Nintendo (and in some cases allow that anger to drive them to make more predictions against Nintendo; rinse, repeat)
Third is the fact that Nintendo is building a customer base that doesn't need the game media; casual players don't read reviews, or any gaming news. A big part of Nintendo's base buy their games the same way they bought the wii in the first place - based on word of mouth.
Finally, is the fact that Nintendo's customer base isn't delivering a story the way a hardcore base would. I think the game media liked the fact that big games now lauch like big movies open - with big fanfare and big earnings right away. Games can be declared success or failures within a week - unless those games are wii games, with few hardcore fans knowing to show up on day one, but enormous word of mouth sales much much later.
So in summary, the media hates Nintendo because they have been made to look like fools, and because Nintendo is following a path that makes then irrellevant.
