I think it is fairly rated. Far from a 10 as MK can never be perfect without the classic co-op Grand Prix. Bring that back in the next one and I will play it all day long.

Online Grand Prix would have been amazing.

I hate when any game gets a 10 to be honest, it pretty much says the game is perfect and there is nothing needed that can make it better than it already is.

8.5 leaves alot of room for improvement, which is what I am looking forward to. If you think it is that great as an 8.5 rated game, just think of what MKWii 2 will be like with improvement on what they already gave you.

I believe Hail to the Chimp is a PSN/XBLA game and it recieved a score, as did fLOw I believe.

As I stated earlier, WiiWare titles recieve scores as well. I think in order for one of these games to be reviewed it must meet a certain criteria, whatever that may be.

VC games will never be reviewed based on the fact they are no different from the game when it was released 10+ years ago. So the old review scores still stand and could be looked up anywhere on the net pretty much.

do you mean 2players racing online at a time BECAUSE you can do that from one console? or do you mean 2 players racing for a cup at the same time Because you can do that ALSO? that sounds like a sad excuse to hate a game btw I think you either hate it couse I like it or because you don't got a wii so whats the real reason you hate? YOU still race thats kinda the point in the game and the reason its beyound other racers is the ONLINE/2people from one console and how fun it is.......... I think the game could live without co-op-GP thats why it got a good but not great rating.........,.

It is not a sad excuse, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I have also owned a Wii since release, I can list out my games and my Wii console # is in my sig, I thought my Smash code = Console code but I was wrong, so add it if you wish and I will send a message back when I take the time to play my Wii.

Why would I hate something because you like it? I don't even know you.

Co-op Grand Prix is also different, if you played previous versions you know what I am talking about. Then we can get into why it does not have Free for all battle anymore.

Read here, there are plenty who are saying the same thing I am. Hell I even went as far as to say I loved the WiiWheel in that thread, before I went back to the Wavebird.

Hail to the Chimp is not a XBLA game. I'm not sure if its PSN though.  For the most part GI does not review PSN or XBLA.  I can't recall a WiiWare title being reviewed but I've had mu subscription dropped for thae last few months. 

They do talk about these games but I've not read any reviews in GI.

yeah and flow was another one of those ps3 games that got a good score, meanwhile BIG MAMA'S COOK OFF blows FLOW away because even BIGMMCOOK is better than that.......... If g4 gave that game a 3-5stars than BIGMMCOOK should have got a 5-5 REALLY it is better`...........

First of all, Nintendo has been telling the media they won't play the media's game since before this generation began. Remember all the interviews in 2005 and 2006 where various interviewers begged Nintendo to tell them the specs of the Wii, and Nintendo continually refused?

 

Second of all, is the fact that the some members of the media keep making fools of themselves with their predictions of doom and gloom for Nintendo. Rather than look inward for the reasons they were wrong, they get mad at Nintendo (and in some cases allow that anger to drive them to make more predictions against Nintendo; rinse, repeat)

 

Third is the fact that Nintendo is building a customer base that doesn't need the game media; casual players don't read reviews, or any gaming news. A big part of Nintendo's base buy their games the same way they bought the wii in the first place - based on word of mouth.

 

Finally, is the fact that Nintendo's customer base isn't delivering a story the way a hardcore base would. I think the game media liked the fact that big games now lauch like big movies open - with big fanfare and big earnings right away. Games can be declared success or failures within a week - unless those games are wii games, with few hardcore fans knowing to show up on day one, but enormous word of mouth sales much much later.

 

So in summary, the media hates Nintendo because they have been made to look like fools, and because Nintendo is following a path that makes then irrellevant.

and you hate the wii to huh? probably, I'm sorry if your mad nintendo is selling far beyound the other 2 if it makes you feel better but NINTENDO want the right way with business and the other 2 are competing over 2 cause they want the same old traditional way.........
