It takes practice but this is exactly what people said about the analog stick for the 64...OMGz how do I play SF 2 with that. However what you will most likely see is combination similiar to what nintendo has down. Once developers mindsets about games change than you will see the improvements in traditional genres. MP3 will be the first test for FPS like controls(Even if Metroid Prime isn't really a shooter and more of an FPA)

If you want to play the most impressive games you have only one choice: the PC. No, I choose the PS3 just like I choose the Amiga when they were more powerful. I understand that you may not believe me when I say how powerful the PS3 really is when the SPEs are fully used (new games engines, which take some time to be developed compared to just porting existing engines). But I think with due time this will change. I do own a PC though which runs Half-Life 2 pretty well, but with the PS3 out I don't plan to upgrade it for many years to come. |
If you really like power you should sell your PC and PS3 and choose a powerful PC instead. Console can't be upgraded, as much as you like the cell to be powerful and hope that the SPEs get fully used, they will be easily dwarfed by a PC. And whenever your PC does not live up to expectations, just plug in an extra RAM or upgrade your graphic card.
Talking about PS3 power (and xbox360 and specially wii for that matter) compared to a PC is useless in my opinion.
Oh yeah MikeB
Sony also said that an PSP redisgn was not true and now we know it was true.
So you maybe can hope to see it on E3.

Does it have to be exclusive though? seriously it just has to be on the system. Not all PC games are graphic centric Starcraft 2 won't WOW people in terms of graphics but it will control great and have plenty fo effects and have a higher rez than any console game.
Crysis alone has already been stated to be far beyond the PS3's capabilities by Crytek. Why on earth do you think the PS3 to other systems is even close to what the Amiga could do back in the day? The Amiga wasn't passed up for years, the PS3 has been passed up before it's a year old. If you were really committed to complex AI, Graphics, and great sound quality you would have just skipped this console generation entirely. There is a lot more to gaming, and you aren't going to find anything but an extra graphical step that is already out of date from the PS3 and 360. I want a PS3 and 360, but it's not because of "OMG TEH AWESOME GRAPHICS." If Crysis is already out of PS3 range imagine how far ahead PCs will be in 2 years... 5 years... 10 years (It's supposed life cycle)

Of course not but if you want good games this days you are a lot better of with a console.

Doesn't this depend on the type of game you are playing?
RTS: Consoles (as of yet) can't hold a candle to the PC (exception: Full Spectrum Warrior)
Tactical FPS: Consoles get "arcade-y" tactical shooters while their PC counterparts are much more slow-paced and realistically... tactical. Case in point: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
FPS in general: The sheer volume of quality FPS on the PC are more than all FPS on all consoles combined.
Flight Simulations: PC is the only way to go.
Simulations in general (tank, helicopter, submarine, etc): Consoles don't even offer this genre; hence, the PC is your only choice.
Tycoon games: This genre is virtually unheard of on consoles. You want to test your (simulated) business acumen? Forget the consoles, the PC is where it's at.
Gaming preferences vary. I for one love the aforementioned genres (except RTS - getting too old to micromanage so many things going on at light speed like Warcraft III) but the only way I am ever going to play my Simcity 4 is on a PC; same with my Civilizations, Caesars and Railroad Tycoons. And of course, where am I going to get my game on with Counterstrike? It sure as hell ain't gonna be on the Xbox!
The PC has its inherent qualities, just like a console, and the PC has many quality games that, while they may or may not be technically possible on a console, the fact remains that many genres aren't even ported to consoles at all. That's why I get my game on with consoles and PCs - just depends on what I feel like playing. Both consoles and PCs are outstanding entertainment devices.
