I have been noticing that alot of posts such as debating what console is the best, sales of a game, and even stuff like Link vs. Cloud is getting closed. I understand that fanboys comes and start throwing random comments about how their consoles is the best without logic or reason behind it, but even with that i don't think this website needs to be that strict. People should be able to express their opinions about different topics, even if the answer is completely idiotic (unless they threaten and swear a whole bunch which you could simple get rid of the comment). That is what i thought this website was setup to be about. Not just sales, but debate.

And the premise of some of these locked threads aren't as simple as you described. Maybe the thread creator is a fanboy and otherwise reasonable posters start posting flaming comments because the TC has made his intentions clear.

Have you ever seen a "Which console is better?" thread that didn't annoy everyone?
