July 25, 2008 - While this is in no way direct confirmation that a new Marvel vs. Capcom game is in the works, Kevin Feige, President of Production at Marvel Studios did give fans a ray of hope to cling to before an official announcement is made. When asked if a new Marvel vs. Capcom game is possible someday Feige said, "Yes. And maybe sooner than you think."

An interesting note: Capcom has a title in the works in Japan called Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. Because of various licensing issues with Tatsunoko it's virtually impossible that the game will ever make it stateside. Keeping that in mind, the graphics engine and fighting mechanics are already in place which would make it very easy to import Marvel characters and push the game out the door in a relatively short amount of time.

Again, this doesn't confirm the existence of a new Marvel vs. Capcom title, but it's certainly something to hang on to until a meaningful announcement is made one way or the other. We'll have more on this as it develops.

I am not going to get hyped up for this cuz the fake pics of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 a few years back and Marvel being stupid with their license has jaded me.

seriously tho, i doubt mvc will ever see the light of day. marvel thinks they are too cool nowadays.

i remember in the past how much better the japanese versions were as well.....

yo could go to arcades to earn points, and online, and everything. back in the DC days.....

mvc is always a dissappointing event for me.

Marvel has been talking a bit lately about treating their gaming business better, so it could make some sense for them renew their relationship w/ Capcom, since the MvC games were quite well received.

If it does happen, I just hope they stay true to the comic/anime art style rather than the SFIV look. >.>

As for platforms, it would almost certainly be done for arcades first, then ported to consoles.
