Kaz Hirai is a fool. He knows that the 360 has Gems in Forza, Gears, the Halo franchise and more. Sony doesn't focus on the core games for a good year and then the representative admits finally that they are going to focus on games. Luckily MGS4 wont be so lonely at the end of the year. Too bad the shooters will all be generic.

Why in the world would Sony want Forza if they could sell much more with GT?

I was showing that Microsoft has Ace cards too and a lovely lineup of games, if you're open minded. GT is a lovely game in itself. It's a known fact that Microsofts hot games are going to gross more than Sonys top games will. I can bet alot that Kaz knows this and it's eating him up inside. Sony guys are good at putting up an extrmely good front. I mean I watched the Post PS3 interviews with Sony representatives and Nintendos lady was Creepy and uneducated, Sonys guy was Shady and wouldn't answer any hardball questions and Microsofts guy took their hardball question like a champ. The installed user base of Sony doesn't even flinch as far as games are concerned. Motorstorms sales were a fluke and only did well because of attachment rates. Sony knows that their shooters are generic. GT is their best selling first party game. The majority of top selling Sony titles are third party. Look it up, you don't have to believe me. I'm getting a PS3 myself and even I know this. Kaz got touched in a really bad way and is putting up a childish front and not taking it like a champ.

first, he mean HE... his opinion no sony's.. and microsoft games are third party  not first parties even it their are good its different compared to sony first party or nintendo.

and also you forget this could be exageration of something he said, it i believed everything i read right now britney spears would be having her 6 kid.

Alot of people in Sony who represent Sony are Shady. Kaz is the only one who opens his mouth in such a stupid manner. Is Halo third party? is gears third party? is PGR third party? Please...none of them are. Microsoft sells their 1st and 2nd party better to the people better than Sony who sells off their 3rd party and then in anger says they are going to focus on their 1st party as a run around with words, when you know they wont. Kaz Hirai makes of fool of himself in many instances, this isn't the first, and I doubt it will certainly not be the last.

Shouldn't Kaz be dead after the Bioshock news?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

two scenrios:

1. Kaz says he wants GeOW and Halo on the PS3

Xboxfanboy:"LOL, ofcourse he does, the 360 has the best games and PS3 has nothing! isn't it nice to dream? Sony execs are losers."

2. Kaz says he doesn't want any xbox exclusives

Xboxfanboy: "ROFL, what a liar! the 360 has the best games and the PS3 has nothing, he's probably still not over the FF13 announcement (which is why the PS3 sold 20k this week)."

Is there anything that an exec is going to say that isn't going to get him bashed by fanboys?

It's a given that anti-Sony fanboys will bash any sort of response that Kaz would make; it's far more important to consider how non-fanboys will take his comments.

Personally, I would have liked for Kaz to have said something like "We welcome any and all good games to our already stellar lineup" or "I respect Microsoft as a competitor, but Sony's software library is in a class of its own."  Or words to that effect.

(Then again, it'd be entertaining to see Kaz shout "Falcon Punch!" and then clobber the guy).

My point is this.

If he says he'd like (insert xbox exclusive), he would look like he's weak and not confident in his own product.

If he says he doesn't think the PS3 needs any of the 360's exclusives, he would look like an arrogant prick.

It's a lose-lose situation. I don't expect any execs to give their competitors any credit, nor do i except them to not pump up the credibility of their own product. What were some of you bashers(not implying you, Alasted) expecting? "I WANT HALO....NOW!" give me a break.

It wasn't a lose-lose situation at all. It is entirely possible to come up with a reasonable answer that doesn't imply that you are not confident in your own product. Instead he decided to come across as a complete idiot. What he said was potentially a huge gaffe, the same could not be said of a reasonable answer to the question that acknowledges that Microsoft does have some games, whilst reinforcing the strength of their line up.

Debating with fanboys, its not
all that dissimilar to banging ones
head against a wall

Kaz is right, MS's lineup is quite devoid of any artistic or intellectual merits and would do nothing to further the PS3's reputation. They may sell in the millions and achieve critical acclaim but they are not up to Sony standards in terms of wanting to transend mere entertainment and provide customers with deeper value. Bioshock is the only Xbox game that I think truly benefits the PS3's lineup, but nothing beyond that.

I'd never have expected someone bearing the name Deepthroat Gaming to be overly concerned with the artistic and intellectual merits of video games.

The only reason you claim Bioshock is the only good game that deserves to be on the PS3 is because you're an obvious fanboy. Heavenly Sword?...oh wait it's gone. The getaway? oh wait, it's gone. Sony sells it's 3rd party like it's their 1st party. Their only best selling 1st party game is GT ever since the PS2. If you're talking about games that make you think, with sony...I think you're talking about last gen...not this one. Videogames these days rarely show depth, and Sony's shooters are all generic. Sony shouldn't be pandering to the American audience by trying to win them over with shooters. They wont make over 3 mil games sold on either Killzone or Resistance 2 like Halo 3 and Gears sold. Show me some facts.

P.S. Kaz doesnt really even play videogames. RIIIIIIIDGGGGGGGGGGEEEEE RACCCEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
