 And yep, the people that do that deserve to be thrown in a hole and buried alive.  Seriously, you're taking away money from the people who are making the game.  The people that put an insane amount of time and effort in bringing you those games.  The people that wont make another game if they don't make enough money.  I know people say that they do it just to trial the games or for backups, but they're full of crap and they know it.

And not saying you do this Fuzzmosis, using the general you.

I feel like I'm having a finger pointed at me. I do know people who have flash carts for GBA/DS and download roms. I don't, but I'd be lying to say that no one does it.

Just because you know about the roms and all that doesn't mean you use them.  I know about them too, Hell, I even have a  M3 DS Simply and I don't use it for roms (though I admit it is suspicious).

A couple of people in the office use MoonShell for their music listening pleasure (it does other stuff too).

I personally love the homebrew hacks you can do with the DS. Admittedly, for homebrew/hacks you can't beat the PSP, but the DS has its fair share of things you can do, such as:

- run Doom via emulator

- run Linux

- view images

- view videos

- turn it into a PDA 

- use the DS as a wireless gamepad for your PC

Again, the PSP trounces the DS in homebrew/hacks - it can do everything on the list better than the DS can, except for the gamepad bit.

In the process of writing my own 2D engine (still pretty early and have a long way to go >_<) and the plan is to eventually put a version of this game on it.

It's also handy because I can put my portfolio on it and have it with me whenever I go to things like GDC or AGC.

Glad to see people other than me excited for this! Good luck with your 2D game engine twesterm, I was majoring in CS before I changed to Radiography (big change I know lol) and I know it can be tough.

Great, more excuses for why the PSP is better than the DS at doing everything other than its primary function, playing games. How did a thread about FFIV turn into comparing the PSP and DS again?
