The sales will be far worst.

Maybe Phil Harrison is not a RPG fan or he invest too little money in Japan. It seems to me that Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios put most of their resources in western studios (especially Europe). Hopefully, we will see more balance between different genres in the near future as Shuhei Yoshida is in charge now.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Socom 1 and Socom 2 Online did NOT suck

I wonder Sony can do something about it .... I mean I really don't see a sony Executive going to Insomniac and says 'I WANT that you make a shooter for PS3' Same with Guerilla, so far I know Guerrilla have made only shooters. (Don't know all their games though only KZ and that Vietnam shooter).

Socom was a experiment they wanted to make a game where you could command the other characters in the game with your voice and a Tactical shooter was probably their best idea and it was quite succesfull.

With MAG I don't know... They probably wanted to make a game where you could play with a lot of people and I think a tactical shooter kind of game was the best choice. If you really can play with 256 people online it will be something impressive if it succeed.

Hardware 2? What is that?

Phil Harrison no longer works for Sony, he is now a head at Atari (of all places). Someone else is the head of Sony worldwide, that would be my theory on why Getaway was cancelled because that was on of his projects.

Cod4 did +9 million, Halo3 8 million, Gears 5 million, Resistance 3 million (cant argue sales) its the top selling genre ain't it.

Xbox death that what up with so many shooters, the only thing the x has is shooters and online. Sonys out to destroy their only strengths.

..and RPGs, and JRPGs, and Racing games, and action games, and puzzle games, and platforming games(even if only a little bit here), and....

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

The 360 doesn't only have shooters, if you truly believe that then your delusional.

@hus sony is destroying xbox's strengths, but Microsoft is destroying Sony's strengths e.g jrpgs

Makes sense.

They know Japan belongs to the Wii but they'll definitely be in 2nd as the 360 can't touch them there. In Europe they're beating the far cheaper 360 so it seems secure as well. NA is where the battle is*. They've had the momentum as of late but they want to keep it rolling and ensure MS doesn't fight back. And FPS are hot right now so the western crowd will eat it up.

My only problem is with the recent obsession at overcrowding the multiplayer arena. R2 is doing 60 players IIRC. MAG says 256. Hardware 2 wants 50 vs. 50 or 100 man FFA.

Call me outdated but I like the intimacy of a smaller 2v2 or 4v4. When you know everyone else playing at the moment and communicate well with them. I've spent hundreds of hours playing Halo 2 in such smaller settings and I hope we at least have the option to keep smaller team matches going.

*Edit - I meant the battle with the 360 is more heated in NA.  Others seems to be where the hot battle for Wii vs. PS3 will end up.

The only people who have declared Sony the winner in Europe is Sony themselves.  On this very website you're posting on, they still haven't shown to be caught up to the Xbox 360 yet in Others.  In fact, when Sony announced they had passed the 360 in Europe, the general industry response from their competitor and from the gaming media was, "Has Sony checked the numbers recently?"

I'm not saying that they won't catch up in Europe, I'm just saying they haven't yet.
