previews for the game have been positive

Previews are *always* positive.  That's how previews work.

What is trolling :s

Anyway, I dont know, from the video's i have seen, BKN&B looks a bit weak. Although not a fan of collecting bits n pieces in games, I don't mind as long as it has the gameplay that the original Banjo Game had on the N64. I loved it from beginning to end. it was almost magical! I don't know what exactly it is, but i don't see that same magic in the new one :S maybe its just me or maybe the idea of collecting more and more things has just put me off... i dont know :s

I can't see it doing particularly well.  Maybe get over 1m, but who knows.  Is Rare making the new Viva Pinata as well, if so, then they could be in for a torrid time.

I'm surprised they are not making another perfect dark game though....could this be Rare's last 2 360 titles while under the arm of MS.

Rare is working on Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise, Banjo-Kazooie: Stop N Swop, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and the 360 avatar system.

What's giving you the impression these are Rare's two last games for Microsoft?

this titles is enough for now also they maybe hide other titles to surprise us in the future ..no need to rush them all together .. ho knows.

That trailer just reinforced my belief...

It had a rather lame and weird beginning to the trailer and then they showed some random, stupid looking machines...

Seriously, I cannot see the 360 demographic digging the "kiddy" look of Banjo... They will all buy Gears and Fallout and COD5...

This game will flop. That does not mean it wont sell a million, but for a franchise this big, and for the amount of money they have put into this game.... anything less than 2 million is a flop. Kinda a similiar situation as Ninja Gaiden. Big Franchise. Big Budget. Less than 2 million = FLOP

Now if it does recieve steller reviews I might sell around... 2.5 million, and to me, if this game sells that much that will be SHOCKING.

Remember- The largest part of the 360's userbase is testosterone charged 13-20 boy/ young men. That demographic likes things that look cool.

This game would have decent sales potentional on the Wii do to the kid appeal, and females(for some reason I could see girls liking this.. must be Kazooie...) and the fact the Wii has a platformer fanbase (because of SMG)

Ratchet saw sales much worse than expected do to the demographic reasons I just stated. I think the one thing that saved it was the low competition on the PS3 last year. I could see Banjo selling like Ratchet, breaking a million after a while.

Remember though, a lot of those testosterone charged 20 year olds were kiddies who probably played/owned the first two BK games on the N64, and probably still have a soft spot for it in their hearts! I wouldn't be surprised if this game turned out to sell really well, if not for the nostalgic game alone.

Ok, here is the problem with your selling on Nostalgia alone argument... this game is nothing like the first 2. Also the first 2 were on a very good platformer console.... Partly thanks to the Banjos of course.

Also I heard someone say that the reason that everything looks dumb is that is the way the series has always looked... Well number one the first 2 were on the N64, and games that tried to look real on 1st gen 3d console looked really bad... the only reason they sold back then was because nobody knew any better. That is the reason I believe that the 5th gen ages worse than any other gen (with exception of a few... like Mario 64... or Ogre Battle 64).

Also part of the reason the original Banjo had steller sales is because most N64 owners had beaten Mario 64 are were hungry for a solid platformer... Banjo fit that mold. I really have a hard time seeing the 360 supporting kiddy style platform games... I know a couple people stated they were 23 and liked it.. well Number a 23 year old in my mind does not fall under a testostone charged teenager.... I was referring more to the Haloboy types.

All that to say I think the game wont sell to the mainstream 360 owner, maybe to the 360 fanboy that tries really hard and tells themself they like it. However due to the advertising and userbase size in general I think 1 million is very attainable.

My personal opinion is the game look really stupid. The only experiance I had with the previous one were I rented Banjo-Tooie and beat about 60% of it in the 5 days I had it. I like it. But it is not the change scaring me.... I just flat out don't like that way it looks.

There are people who hated the way SMG looked with all of the globes and such... they were wrong. I could be, but I really think it looks like a boring dumb game.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

i think it will be good, just not as good as the original two

If Banjo was coming to the Wii this thread would not exist.
