Buy a PS2. You won't regret. It offers more variety and more quality games than the Wii's current library. Only on the PS2 can you find masterpieces such as Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy X, God of War series, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Persona 3 & 4, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Jak, along with others. It is the best console to ever existed. There are lots of great games you may have never played on the PS2.

get the ps2 because your mother or sister whatever will not take controle of it, pluss it has the best games library out of any other console.

You wouldn't have had that dilemma if Sony didn't ditch the backward compatibility for 32$ by PS3.

Get a Wii because you can play PS2 games on your PS3. Unless you have a no-BC version, in which case why the hell did you pay that much for a crippled console?

Tough call. You really seem to be into RPGs, and the PS2 has those in spades, while the Wii only has a few. In addition, the PS2 ones will be dirt cheap, while Wii games are still full price. In the end, ask yourself whether you want to go with the known but unchanging library, or the system that has just a bit of stuff but which will probably improve in the future.

Well it sounds like you've already owned a PS2. But even so, I'd say it is the better choice. It is cheaper, and there are still probably dozens of games you haven't played that are a whole lot cheaper than wii games. Plus it is still getting a handful of good exclusives. Persona 4 in December.

BC ps3's are now available on amazon! Sell your 40 gb and if you already have mgs4, sell the new copy on ebay for at least $50. That should cover some of the costs!. No use having multiple PS systems lying around!

Then, get a wii if you feel like you want one

If the Wii would get its ass into gear and release quality RPGs like the ps2 has, id say go with the Wii first and eventually get a ps2.

But the fact remains the Wii is still gonna be a haven for casual games (no deep storylines, barely passable RPGs) and little else for a while to come.

Get yourself a PS2 and wallow in the many many games you'll get to play, not to mention still some coming out in the future (Persona 4).
