PS3... because it have Vader.
| Sansui said: Soul Calibur 2 was one of my favorite games for the Xbox. I bought it on my xbox back then instead of my ps2 because Spawn > Tekken and the graphics were substantially better This round, I think the 360 version will end up selling more just because of the install base difference, but the PS3 got the better exclusive character. Definitely my favorite fighting franchise, and the first time I wish I could have the ps3 version of a game. |
Not to mention the loading times; SCII on Cube and Xbox 360 ran smoothly from character select to taunt/load screen to fight, on PS2, it went character select, Taunt/load Screen for 30seconds or more, then fight. It really hurt the pace of the game if you had lots of friends trading in and out.
And yes Spawn and Link were waaaaay beter exlusive characters... Speaking of SCII and Todd McFarlane, does anybody else miss Necrid in the series? I realize he doesnt really match the aesthetic of the rest of the game, but he simply kicked a** so much that I dont care.
Dont know abou which one will sell more but Im buying the PS3 version/

I didn't forget that games can sell better on the ps3 than 360 despite install base, so I don't know why you're acting like I did :P I stated my opinion, and I stand by it. I do not think that Soul Calibur is a franchise that has a fanbase with strong preference for the PS3, that would result in the kind of discrepancy you've described. I think it will sell equally well on both systems, and since there is a significant install base difference, the 360 version will sell more copies. My reasoning is sound.

You don't really know for a fact. Heck, I'd say that most fighting game fans are PS3 owners since it has Tekken and had Virtua Fighter 5 exclusively for a good while. I might not have said this, but Soul Calibur 4 is likely to sell more on the 360 than the PS3 in America, due to the userbase difference you described. But it will still sell a good bit more than the 360 version in PAL and Japan, which could easily put the PS3 version over any gap or fault that the 360 version would have created in America. Look at DBZ: Burst Limit or Devil May Cry 4 or even Dynasty Warriors 5. The only real time the 360 wins is when the game only has appeal to America and PAL (shooters, for example).
Ps3 has the better fighting game controller, and character. I bought a Gamestop controller for my 360 just for this game (and SF IV). I think the 360 version will sell better, but I STILL don't know which one I'm buying.
the xb 360 version will sell better in my opinion, i have both systems and will be getting the xb 360 version because i like the 360 controller alot better for fighting games than the ps3 controller. and from what i have seen about tekken 6, sc4 looks alot better than it does. if they want tekken 6 to look better than sc4 they have alot of work to do in it, i would rather have doa5 then tekken 6 anyways.

| impulsivity said: The worst part was Link was a total disappointment, he just got owned left and right which was weird since he was so good in the SB games. I bought the GC version for him and used him only a handful of times. They'd better give Vader some decent force moves, don't want a repeat. |
Link needed a serious nerf in SC2. He had a throw that covered more than half the ring and could ring-out. Combine that with an aresenal of range attacks and you could just bait people to the "edge" and win.
