Sales wise, for the system, I mean...Supposing there was (or is?) indeed a full fledged FFVII remake being developed exclusively for the PS3, what do you think would be a reasonable effect this could give the system, sales wise, in the short and medium terms?

Some think it wouldn´t be such a big deal, while others seem to think it´d be the game to propel the PS3 skyhigh, much more than MGS4 or a previously thought exclusive FFXIII could have done.

Do you think a very large number of people would buy PS3s just to play it?....or do you assume most people who would be potential buyers of a FFVII remake would already own the system?

No more a difference than Final Fantasy Xiii. People are always looking for something new, remakes are nice, but they never have the buzz of something new. Its an 11 year old game at this point and its gameplay is archaic and story is now incredibly chiched.

to be honest with you, i really dont think a ff7 remake would sell as well as people would hope it to be

It depends if they do do a full remake with everything in HD, new FMVs, more content. I think it could do 4 million sales if it was released this holiday

I wonder if given the chance if Sony would change the ending.

Given how most would like a chance to save the main character, that could drive sales. It could be called FF VII-Alt.

FF7 sold 9 mil not 90 mil as some people on this site seem to think. It would be a long time coming if it were made and it won't change anything. It would even be pressed to sell 75% of what the original did on any console or even multiplatform!
