Most people I've seen always have a Japanese developed game as their favourite of all time - Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, etc, so which is your favourite non-Japanese game of all time?

My personal favourite is Half Life 2 - incredible story, atmosphere and graphics for its time.

Honestly, I thought it reminded me a lot of Star Trek with all the different cultures, races, the Alliance (like the Federation for Earth), etc. That's one of the reasons why I thought that the story was awesome because everything made sense. We also get a great view of how the political affairs take place in the not-so-distant future! I thought the story was very well-written and the gameplay was plain awesome (even though there were some frame drops).

By the way, the ending was just too epic, especially when you have invested a couple of months in the game like me (school was killing me). I always thought "Oh, this is how it all ends? Hmmm, ok..." but then other things start and stuff, etc. Let's just say I haven't been so proud to watch the credits of a game in my entire life (and the music was pretty good, it matched the style)!

Ultimate Doom. First and best game I've ever played.
