| MikeB said: @ megaxl well 150 million of playstation could exist, but not 150 million users, millions of playstations are defective (30-50 million) and are many playstations redesigned like psone and ps2 slim (50- 70 millions) i think the real userbase of the playstation (ps1 or ps2) are 60 - 70 millions and if the ps2 users go to wii they have 60-70 million users, nintendo need a wii- lite to reach the 100 million mark, but maybe the new market help. There are many shops doing PS2 repairs, do you honestly think a majority of defective PS2s are simply thrown away? Similarly I don't think a majority of the defective XBox 360s beyond warranty will just be thrown away with the trash. |
well give a playstation 2 only 2-3 million of defective and without repair if you want but the redesigned ps2 slim begin in 2004 when the ps2 have 70-80 million, and the double buy factor (have the original ps2 and buy the ps2 slim) i think give the ps2 other 60-80 million (50 - 100 % of the original ps2), give the 150 million that the ps2 can have (remenber that this year only have 117.89 million to march 2007 according to VG chartz) and this mean that even if you quit importance of the defective and without repair ps2, the redesigned ps2 sell much ps2 units and with the double buy factor misnus the ps2 slim the ps2 have a userbase of approx. 70-80 millions, the userbase of the original ps2.
i like the PS2 but 100 - 150 millions of unique users or unique buyers of the ps2 i think is false.
