Forums - Nintendo - Anyone with one of the M3 line of products (for the DS/GBA)?

With the Mother 3 fan translation almost done, I'm thinking of buying a flash cart for my DS lite.

I could not decide between the M3 lite or the M3 DS real perfect bundle (with GBA expansion pack). So, I'd like to ask anyone who has either of these cards. Which one would you recommend, and what about the compatibility with GBA games?

I've tried playing Mother 3 (orig. Japanese version) using a Supercard SD, but could not save using the in-game save function (i.e. with the Save Frogs) but could only do so with the "Real Time Save" function of the flash cart. So, does either of the two M3 cards support direct in-game saves?

I'd be thankful if someone could help me out here.

My brother has an M3 Real. Works just fine.

4 ≈ One

I have a M3 Real and an EZflash 3 in 1. I heard those were both fine though.

^On the GBA as well? Just to make sure. The videos of YouTube only briefly showed them starting the GBA game, but there is no demonstration of them loading/saving files.

I have to make sure in case I regret it.

I have the M3 Real perfect bundle (w/ the GBA expansion cartridge) and GBA games save/load just fine. However, there's 2 loading methods: "fast" and "slow". Some games work fine with fast loading, some need the other method, which as far as I know, patches the ROM in some way. You just have to experiment with each ROM and see which mode you need to use. Some won't even start, if you load them the wrong way. The good thing is, you only have to do this once. Loading options are saved on the SD card, and you don't have to do anything after the first successful run.

There's also great homebrew for the DS. I'm playing a DS version of Lemmings lately and it suits the device perfectly. :)
