What's the point of Wii Speak with AC?

I mean, it's a one player game on each console. Why does the whole room need to talk in a one-player game?

please dont start bashing on this thread.
This is not their answer to that headset because believe it or not alot of people hate the headset because of the quality and all the people one Live that do nothing but talk trash.

Wii owners wanted voice chat we got it. Its their answer to their consumers.

I know, but only one person can play on a Wii console right?

I don't get the point of a room microphone on a single-player online game.

He means there is only one person using each console so a headset instead of a full room mic could work.

I think it's more to do with their overall strategy.  Just look at all the Wii commercials and you always see multiple people playing and enjoying games together.  Even the purely singleplayer games, people watch for the heck of it.  Nintendo wants to put out an official mic that can work with several people because they will probably use it for several other games, some of them allowing for local and online multiplayer simultaneously.  But even if they don't allow for local/online multiplayer to work together just letting the others in the room also talk probably seems like a good idea to them.
