You're getting a masters degree with such poor English. Someone remind me to never work with someone who graduated from your college. Anyways, your logical reasoning skills seem to have difficulty understanding a basic principle: your personal experience is not representative of reality in general. It is highly likely (considering the sales statistics) that your experience in life is an outlier, and many people in a similar situation to you own a Wii (potentially, more people in your position own a Wii than a PS3 or XBox 360 combined).

First of all, I have an IQ of 150 and have aced every standardized test I have ever taken. Second of all you need to use your own logic on yourself and realize that YOUR personal experience is not representative of anything as well. It works both ways bud and again, you do NOT want to get into an intellectual argument with me...

If you want to whip out your intellectual junk do it somewhere else.  Nobody is impressed by your self-proclaimed intelligence.  If you want people to give you the credit for your intellect you should start by proving it by acting like a reasonable and intelligent poster, something you've failed to do that 12 and 13 yeard old members of this site have no problem doing.

A masters degree in "Technology"? Where are you getting that, the Scientific Institute of Science?

By the way, I have two degrees one of which is in Computer Science and another in Pure Mathematics. As you can probably guess, I’m pretty good with logical reasoning.

As a general rule, the only thing people have to determine how intelligent you are on a web forum (or any written correspondence) is your grammar, spelling and punctuation so if you want to be taken seriously you should put an effort into using proper English.

LMAO, computer science? Are you serious? That degree was useless 10 years ago and is so far out of date that nobody goes after those degrees anymore. And FYI, all real colleges offer various degrees in industrial technology now moron.

Strike two!  See I warned you far insulting a member once in this thread and now you do it again.  Have a nice break.

I am sorry, but I agree with this article 100%. This is not targetted at you teenagers that have no real experience with Nintendo or games in general. This is aimed at the gamers like me that are late 20s, early 30s and have owned EVERY Nintendo system ever released. I just got done trading in my Wii with a huge game and accessory collection to purchase the PS3 MGS4 bundle. I have used my PS3 more in a month than I did my Wii in a year. I had every major game on the Wii and was bored with all of them after 1-2 hours.

There are exactly 0 real hardcore games on the Wii. SMG, Zelda, Metroid, etc are all too easy and casual friendly now to be considered hardcore. I have owned every system in this generation and actually almost every system ever released in the U.S.. The only systems I have not owned are Neo Geo and the 3D0 due to the outrageous price on them. I am now done with Nintendo for good. I have been a Nintendo fan and supporter for their entire history, but they have now gone too far with this casual crap. Wii Music is a complete joke and I will have no part of their crap anymore. I will get everything I want and more from having both the 360 and PS3. The Wii is a child's and non-gamers toy and those so-called core games you people are talking about are NOT core games at all. The problem is there are too many teenagers that wouldn't know a core game if it bit them on the ass that are still praising Nintendo on these forums.

The real gamers are playing the PS3 and 360...

This is what I took away from your post:

After playing the PS3 games for more than an hour or two (something I didn't do on the Wii but I will claim to know how good/difficult the games are anyways) I decided these games are undeniably better and that anyone who doesn't think so must not be a gamer.

I really want you to believe I've been hurt emotionally and that Nintendo is a horrible company for inflicting this pain.

Games that I don't like being released on the console I own makes me feel insecure, I need to own a console that makes me feel special and pretty.

I don't like the games on the Wii therefore everyone who does is not a real gamer.

When you calm down and are done with the high dramatics you should try to remember that there are thousands of satisfied core gamers who visit this site who support Nintendo and don't feel the way you do. These people, who you insult when you claim that they aren't "real gamers" would appreciate it if you bring the rhetoric down to a level where a discussion can be had, something that cannot happen so long as people feel that their opinions should be seen as fact.

Everything you said basically makes no sense, but you need al realize that there are thousands of gamers that are unhappy with Nintendo as well. All of you people supporting Nintendo still thinks that there is nobody unhappy with them at all and that they have done nothing wrong ever. You people all think that you are right and everyone else is wrong just because they don't agree with you about Nintendo.

Ah yes, and we shouldn't consider all of the people that Nintendo has made happy. We'll all just concentrate on the unhappy minority and conclude that Nintendo is ruining the gaming experience.

I'm glad Nintendo has abandoned gamers of your type because its people like you that's ruining the gaming industry.

Ok I was wrong.  You aren't an adult acting like a kid.  You're a kid acting like an adult.  How old are you actually?

A Masters program in "Technology"

An IQ of 150 and apparently perfect scores on all your standardized tests?

My first degree is an Associates of Applied Science in Computer Network Systems. My second degree is a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology. As for my masters degree I have not decided on the exact degree at this point. It will be centered on Industrial Technology or Computer Network Systems...is that clear enough for you?

Oh no, another ban from 1 of a billion forums on the net. And in case you didn't notice, I don't post very often to begin with. But it amazes me that so many people are defending Nintendo and the Wii. I miss the old days when boys weren't such wussies and didn't like girlie crap like Kim Possible. When I was a kid we had real cartoons and manly toys, not wussie crap like Pokemon and Yugi Oh...

I love how people who argue that Nintendo isn't mature enough always seem to have the worst grammar and are the most immature posters.

Are you serious? LMAO, you are talking about grammar on the internet? On a forum? On a video game forum? You are seriously retarded. However, just so you know, I am working toward my masters degree in technology. So it is probably a good idea for you to not try and get into an intellectual argument with me as you will lose horribly.

Yes, and as I said I don't care what degrees you have and don't have.

Obviously my warning not to insult other members wasn't clear to you and now you will sit on the sidelines for a couple of days as a result.  Hopefully when you return you will act like the intelligent person you claim to be.

I did not say anything about a game needing to have blood, gore and sex to be a core game. However, a core game cannot be so easy and kiddy that 6 year olds can play it no problem. I want to see the majority of you people beat Mass Effect on Insanity like I have...

Well I'm not the majority, but...

The only thing I found difficult about Mass Effect was the terrible interface and sitting through painfully long load times. (Which were supposeably fixed in the PC version.) Even on Insanity mode, investing in the right skills and proper power-up mangement will carry you through the entire game with minimal fuss.

I'll give you a little tip for future test that involve basic logic, in order to demonstrate that a universal qualifier is incorrect all that needs to be shown is that there exists a counter example to the universal qualifier. So, with your statement "The real gamers are playing the PS3 and 360" all I have to do is demonstrate that there exist people who are "Real Gamers" who are not playing the PS3 or Xbox 360.

In other words, my experience doesn't have to be representative I'm still correct and you're still wrong.

Hopefully, you learned a valuable lesson which you can use when forming and defending the argument in your "Master's Thesis"

Yep I have fled to 360, home of halo, banjo, via pinata, and JRPGs, among other things I could care less about. I still like Nintendo though, and enjoy thier core games (especilly smash- I am back up to playing it 1-3 hours daily), but I have realized how stupid being a fanboy is. It is much better to play whatever system has the games you want. For me that is all systems, but PS3 had the fewest games I wanted and had alot of overlap with 360, so it got left out.

Almost no one on this thread seems able to acknowledge that the wii can have problems. I'm a ps3 fan, but I'm not blind, I know sony has problems and admit them every now and then but most wii fans are just amazing!

Wii Music? Animal Crossing? More peripherals? The wii is a lot of "fun"!

While I don't agree that the ps3 can really attract any wii fans who want another Mario, that article raises some good points. Everyone just blows them up like: "he's a sony/ms fan blah blah blah". I admire your "loyalty" truly.

No, we agree there can be problems. Just that in this particular case the problems are greatly exaggerated.

Do you really believe the WiiWheel and the WiiZapper (or other light-gun shell) will "go unused" with any other game?

That no one will have a use for the WiiMotionPlus?

It is only the WiiFit board that may have trouble attracting developers, but it's fine for the game it was made for. Do you see anyone complaining about the Guitar Hero/Rock Band peripherals gathering dust because they can't be used with other games? Of course not.

And the article seems to gloss over the fact that this was, pure and simple, a PR **** up on Nintendo's part. They are not depriving gamers of Core games. In a ten month period they delivered Metroid, Mario, Smash Bros, and Mario Kart. More are coming - Zelda, Pikmin, Mario, Icarus, and Punch Out are all likely in development. They just didn't announce them because they're ****ing Nintendo being Nintendo. Long time gamers know this, get irritated by it, but we will forgive them once the goods arrive.

And the article ignores the third party titles aimed for the Wii that are considered "core" like Fatal Frame 4 and Dead Rising. Any true core gamer knew that the development of Wii games started late, and that they would *start* arriving about 18 months after the Wii's success was clear. And lo and behold, as we approach the 18 month mark, the games are starting to come. Hopefully they will be more Zack and Wiki/Boom Blox than Alone in the Dark.
