The missing in action John Lucas here to add a little commentary about all this hardcore business.

I see no problem.

Of course you wouldn't

while the vocal minority are crying like babies the vast majority are buying wiis with nintendo laughing all the way to the bank. Nintendo is a buisness company first and formost and they are bloody good at it. Having said that there are plenty of choices out there if you dont like what they are doing. Stop whining the marios and zeldas will come and third parties are already showing some good improvments. If you dont have the patience then take the plunge and buy something else.

As for me im sticking with wii first cause im happy with my investment and secondly cause im willing to be part of the major changes that are taking place and dont wanna be stuck in the old hardcore niche mentality.

First of all, I have an IQ of 150 and have aced every standardized test I have ever taken. Second of all you need to use your own logic on yourself and realize that YOUR personal experience is not representative of anything as well. It works both ways bud and again, you do NOT want to get into an intellectual argument with me...

Ok I was wrong. You aren't an adult acting like a kid. You're a kid acting like an adult. How old are you actually?

A Masters program in "Technology"

An IQ of 150 and apparently perfect scores on all your standardized tests?

You can get degrees in Technology. It's not a particularly usefull for anything... but it exists. I've got a friend who has a degree in Techology.

He's at the same job he was at in highschool.

You're getting lazy John. I was able to read through all that in just one sitting.

@DmeisterJ:

Yes all we recieved was a a mention of Pikmin 3. A mention that the Mario and Zelda teams are hard at work. I understand how many would think that's not enough but was it any less revealing than the God of War III teaser which got many Sony fans pumped?

Would people really have been much happier if Nintendo showed a teaser going through Mushroom Kingdom and at the end Mario jumps up saying "Itsa me, Mario!" with no release date info or anything resembling gameplay?

The vast majority of Nintendo fans will freely admit Sony had a better E3 showing than Nintendo as far as core gamers are concerned, but we also know why it turned out the way it did thanks to the post-E3 interviews with Iwata and Miyamoto.

It's not really "blind allegiance" as you call it. I simply realize the fact that Wii Music releasing won't affect me if I don't play it. I don't have anything to "get over". But the fact that Mario, Zelda, and Pikmin are on the way is definitely good news. I won't enjoy them any less if other casuals are enjoying Wii Music.

It was just my confusion then.  Around here there's no degree in "technology".  They're usually something else like _____ Technology (like madkiller clarified he was Industrial Technology).

At least sony went through the trouble of spending a bunch of money on a 5 second clip?

I mean... it does kinda show effort.

Why didn't GTA4 bounce up the hardware sales of the XBox 360 & PS3 like Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit do for the Wii?

Just gotta address this.  The reason GTA didn't have as noticable of an impact is because it was multiplatform.  MGS4 released lately as an exclusive and had a very sizeable boost.  I'm guessing FFXIII will be the same as GTAIV with a small boost to both, nothing to write home about to either.

@Kasz

Yea, I guess it shows effort.  But no teaser for Mario/Zelda/Pikmin wasn't about Nintendo being lazy.

1- Nintendo's strategy of announcing games closer to release has been talked about to death.  I'm surprised we even got mentions of Mario and Zelda considering neither will probably release for a while.

2- Like they have stated they want to focus on the casuals at E3 since the mainstream press attends.  They can show off other games on any random Thursday and get the core excited as we'll always be following the latest news.  The casuals won't.

Yeah... who knows it might just be the one college's program... as seen by his inability to get a job.

Maybe he is telling the truth.  Though Masters degree program, a name like Madkiller and teenage level debate skills rarely mix.  Then again there are plenty of talented people who talk like complete idiots.

Look at Cliffy B.

The IQ of 150 is hilarious though.  I'd like to see what online test he got that from.  It being exactly 150 is hysterical.

The frequence of having an IQ of 150 is less then like... .1%  yet everyone on the internet magically has an IQ over 130.

Why not shoot for the moon for that extra 1 IQ point to be in the highest rating group.

Yeah... I know. Just saying... like a CGI clip can turn something boring into an amazing press confrence. See everyone freaking out about FF13 and GOW3 despite them basically being placeholders saying "Stuff in the future, can't tell you when, cause we don't know!"

I mean. Had there been like a 5 second preview of a shadowy figure walking up to a stone and pulling out a sword in a stone with the triforce symbol on it people would of been freaking out.

It really wouldn't of been any different since while they didn't announce a new Zelda... they basically announced a new Zelda by saying the Zelda team is at work. I don't see much difference unless they are working on a non Zelda game... in which case Nintendo gave everybody the wrong idea.

Not saying it's right... but that's how things work in the hype driven internet world.
