Looks good for a Wii game.

Nice insult-hidden-in-a-complement there, Legend. I'd actually felt like you were becoming a bit more wisened in your posts: you managed to respectfully maintain your own position (that graphics matter to you, that the 360-style games are more fun for you) without suggesting that other people's opinions are stupid or wrong. In the last few days, that hasn't been the case as much.

How would it feel if I came to every "Look at this 360 game!" thread, posted pics of Crysis, and said: "Looks good for a 360 game."

I know you can be better than this. I also understand that other people may not treat you well; I hope that you can rise above that anyway. Just because someone else is a jerk doesn't mean you should be too -- either find new people to talk to, or be respectful in the face of disrespect.

I like a lot of the 360 games, and the graphics they offer, even if the 360 is patently inferior to my PC. I may get a 360 some day, and I personally believe that Microsoft will have the leading console in either the 8th or 9th generation (and I suspect they won't relinquish that lead for some time). Even if the 360 isn't my favorite console, I still usually restrict the urge to take subtle jabs at 360 owners. And when I do step over that line -- and I have -- I try to apologize for it. Again: I'm hoping you can show the same kindness, because I've seen you're capable of it before.

I still want a 2D (gameplay) Metroid on the Wii (or DS). Don't care if it uses a 3D engine or pure 2D. It would be too awesome.

I would love to see a new side scroller metroid running on 3D sprites (kinda like NSMB).

It's nice to know that while Corruption may not have anywhere near the graphical muscle of it's 360/PS3 counterparts, it still looks fantastic. Score one for the art department!

As for the game itself. I'm cautiously optimistic that the Wii FPS control scheme will be an improvement over traditional controls. Very cautious.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Agreed. I too would like to see another 2D Metroid game. Were over due for one on the DS.

I won't be getting this game till my birthday early September. I might be missing out.

ya know. I really like the metroid prime series. Much better than halo. However, it will not beat halo3 in sales. why? too complicated for the average halo fan. They can only run and shoot. It takes time to walk around and scan shit. Look for the tiniest details in the walls and so on.

Wow. Just wow. You must be a vastly superior gamer than I am because I enjoy the Halo series and think the MP series is just "meh". I bow before your greatness.

Agreed on not being a Halo killer, but otherwise I disagree.

I'm honestly surprised that Metroid Prime remains the only First Person Adventure franchise in existence (the essential distinction being that this game emphasizes exploration over action). It's initial offering is considered one of the top ten or twenty games ever created by critics; why is no one following suit? Why are all First Person games still about blowing crap up, and not about discovery? I'm not asking that they all transfer over, but given the reception of Metroid Prime, you'd figure at least one other game would enter the sub genre.

You know, you're right about that. The one thing I really did like about the MP series is the discovery aspect of the game. It should be incorporated into other FPS games. It adds a cool element to the story.

Hopefully this game will require more skill than MP 1 & 2. I really disliked the controls on those games and how the aiming is handled. I want an option where I control more of the game. Hopefully the Wii will bring some of those elements to the series but I'm not holding my breath.

My apologies, I guess I have been a little negative lately.

Personally, I think at some point the controls will be better than a game pad, but still inferior to a keyboard/mouse. There are a few obvious obstacles to overcome, and it's simply going to take some clever thinking to circumvent them.

The easiest and most important example is centering: if you're pointing the Wii remote at the screen, and are already on the far left side, it's hard to turn farther left. With a mouse, you simply pick it up, put it back on the center of the mouse pad, and drop it again. Done. Nothing like that is immediately possible on the Wii mote, but I can think of a few lame ways to get around the problem. We'll see.

Please note that I say this will be true at some point: it may not be Metroid Prime that jumps all these hurdles.

It's okay -- I know I've jumped over the edge on you at times, and I apologize for those moments. I respect your posts, and I think (when you're at you're best) you can really represent the 360 angle here on the boards honorably and articulately. You, RocketPig, and MrStickBall are absolutely necessary to any fair discourse on these boards. Otherwise, it's just Wii fans telling PS3 fans they stink, and vice versa :p

By the way, I wanted to post this in the "Toys R Us" thread, but I suppose I'll post it here too since it's nice. We started a sale on 360's today: we offer a 50 dollar gift card with the purchase of a Premium. I instantly sold 3 this morning, which is a lot, by Toys R Us standards (I've sold 2 PS3s in the last month entire).
