And you are welcome to it, no matter how optimistic it is.
Very good work .....still its all guesses .For me the software cant go as far as to drive the console sales to 4X times the amount is selling now .Gears of War didnt push the sales so much after all ,I dont know why Halo 3(that looks worse ) or GTAIV ( that is multiplattform and more cherished by Playstation owners ) would push so much the hardware .I just dont see it but thats also only my opinion .

The Xbox 360 has sold 6,400,000 units after 18 months on the market so I think that it is highly unlikely that it will sell another 4,885,000 in 6 months; essentially you're suggesting that it will sell 75% as many units as it has to date in 33% of the time (or that it will sell at approximately 2.3 times its average rate over the next 6 months).
i dont think HALO 3 going to be 6.5 million by the end of the year but perhaps before June 08 it will reach 6.5 million in US. I predict HALO 3 selling 8 million in the US alone in its life time.
In my opinion, extremely optimistifc about the hardware sales in Japan.
I think the JRPGs won´t hit 500k in America, except from LO maybe.
As far as I´m concerned, there isn´t any JRPG that has sold really well in USA except from FF.
way too optimistic in america. Also too optimistic in Japan, but in that case we are dealing with small numbers that don't change the overall picture much. Europe numbers might be higher though.
If there is no price cut those numbers in America are impossible. Even with a price cut it's optimistic. nearly 5 million in 7 months for america alone???!
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
The 360 has been a financial disaster. Even with the XBL add-on to revenue that MS has been getting, the cost of refurbishing all of these 360's has taken away a lot of money that they could have budgeted towards HDDVD, product upgrades, sweeter enticements for developers so that more exclusives and $$$ will come their way, etc.
MS has predicted that they will go profitable by 2008, which is fine, but 2 years after they started selling the 360. With the *very* high sales that they have had, this profitability should have came much sooner. Unless MS can pull themselves out of the hole that they are digging, I cannot see them introducing another console.
I appreciate the time and effort that went into these estimates, but they're far too optimistic (as others have said). In 19 months on the market, the 360 has sold 6.37 million consoles in America; you're predicting almost 5 million sales in the next 6 months? Appreciate the enthusiasm, but that's not going to happen. Somewhere in the 3-4 million range is much more likely, and will still make for a very good year for Microsoft.
Let me also state this: there's a zero percent chance that Halo 3 sells 7.8 million copies this year. 7.8 million! That's absolutely crazy; no game outside of Pokemon Diamond/Silver will do that well this year. There are only 10 million 360s in the entire world right now, and even Halo won't have an attach rate approaching 80%. Over the game's entire lifespan, maybe, but certainly not in a single holiday season.
The Japan predictions for the 360 are actually the craziest of all (150k sales in a single month?!), but with the numbers so low over there, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
You do realize that you are predicting no less than 14 different million sellers for the 360 this year, right? On a console with an installed base of only 10 million total.... umm, well, it's possible, I suppose.
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)
