Forums - Sony - PS3 owners and WiFi

Day 1, because the ethernet port near my tv is dodgy (so my xbox now gets it!)

Around the Network

i always switch from my downstairs tv (HDTV) to my upstairs tv which is standard definition. the upstairs one has the wirless router so i connect with lan.

when im downstairs i use wi fi.

very very convenient that its built in.

yes, I used it about 15 minutes after plugging my ps3 in after doing all the settings (date and time etc) and then the first thing I did was set up my wifi connection and created my psn account.

If you get broadband now you normally get a wireless router packaged with it and as the Wii, which has been classed as causal, comes with Wifi and ethernet being an poorly advertised extra, the casual user is likely to use wifi.

Only hard-core will use cable as anybody with a better half will do her nut about the cables.

There will be a sizable amount of people not connecting at all but I think they will be a minority, maybe a third or a quarter.

Yes, immediately. This and BC are the two biggest pluses IMO.

I used it instantly. Not going to run a 20 meter long cable through my house.
