For technicality purposes, I wouldn't when it is a cut to get rid of old stock, once that stock has gone, the new 60GB 360 will still be...well whatever it is.

the news article is talking about Europe though and 360 had a £50 price cut not so long ago, it did...well, little.

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

we will see what it does.

but we dont know if MS will drop the price of the 60gb to 300$ after the clearance sales (I think they will)

Whatever, they need something BIGGER : all sku drop 50$-80$.

Basically, as I said fews minutes after E3 Sony conference :

400$ PS3 80gb > 300$ to 350$ Xbox360 60gb

60gb birthday = 60gb deathday

Eurogamer: Why do the 80GB PS3 in Europe now?

David Reeves: I think the honest answer is that the 80GB hard drive hit a price - a procurement price - at a point where we said "yes, we'll take it now". Hard drives are commodities not just for PlayStations but for Vaios and everything else, and you hit that thing where they say, "okay, 80GB - we'll give it to you at the same price as you can for a 40GB" and that's what's happening right now. It's just fortuitous.

They're already being produced. In fact, most of the European ones have already been produced and are on the boat. We'd probably go a little bit earlier but we just want to build up a bit of stock so we don't have shortages in the European markets.
