@tarhheel -- What? The Wii with tax is $270. HoweverI did forget to mention that I bundled Wii Play with this last one.

@brute - that could be a possibility, but they're still going too quickly for me to believe that supply would drop the price by almost half.

That'll do it.

I bet you saved at least one marriage.

Crazed Mom: I don`t believe you forgot little Tommy`s present!
Careless Dad: Come on, how hard can it be to find those Wiis? It is Christmas after all. I bet they got extra stock.

How did you lose $44? By your numbers you spent $63.60 on ebay fees, paypal fees, and shipping fees and that comes out of the $336 ending price for the auction. After the fees there should be $272.40 left for covering the cost of the Wii itself. So the only way you lost $44 is if you were silly enough to pay $316.40 for the Wii.

So what am I missing?

edit: ok you bundled Wii Play in as well...that was sort of your mistake though imo.

You're missing some important data that I forgot to provide at first... I bundled Wii Play with this last one. With my discount it was an extra $46.

Edit: See the thing is though, unbundled Wiis didn't seem to be selling for more than $280, and since I had a discount, I decided to go ahead and include it. Some of the ones I saw with Wii Play were selling for $370+

Yup, you posted it above after I hit the reply, just saw it when I was catching up with the intervening posts.  Like I said though, I think it was a bad idea to bundle Wii Play in as well.  You would get the same price from the console by itself from what I have heard (my brother sells them as well).

That really wasn't my point though. The reason why I started selling in the first place wasn't necesarrily to make a lot of money (though I did want to make my capital back), but to understand a little bit about the market and what drives people to make the purchasing decisions that they do.

Congrats on your business, though.

Most of us are thinking why the fuck didnt i do that. That's some good profit ur makin, but wouldn't work in oz, not enough demand. ur set up for Wii fit resales too right?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
