Forums - Sales - LOL!!! Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the new World doesn't sell?!?! (false)

Ok I don't get it.
All developers should switch to the Wii because it has such a big install base.

Yet...it's not because Wii has such bigger install base than the GC that games should sell better on the Wii than on the GC ( ToS example in this thread).

Make up your mind !!!!!!!!

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I think it has a big chance of selling better in the U.S than the original. By then the U.S install base would alot bigger than it is now. Much larger than the GCs was. Also Tales of Symphonia seemed to target the west more than most(all?) tales that do get localized.
@Memory2zack It started off as more of a spinoff, but then when the ds was selling so well it automatically became important. I will say it is a spinoff, but not a spinoff. (:

Or wii games in Japan sell about equal to greater than ps3 games in japan. Even if it sold less it would bring more profit because of lower developement costs. So its a mixture between large install base(that is growing even larger) and low developement costs. Japanese developers should come to the wii, especially if they are small, but western developers seem to be doing fine on teh PS360PC. It would be nice for the wii to get western support to, but I don't see it.

It´s a spin-off in setting but plays like a main Tales from Team Symphonia.

None of the Tales game ever target Western gamers, including Symphonia.  If it did, Tales would be a multimillion selling series like FF is

Weren't shipments limited during the first 3 weeks of this game's Japanese release? There was only 1 shipment that Namco sent, that was to last 3 weeks, or completely sell out.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I didn't mean at the level of final fantasy. It sold have a million in the united states. More than it did in japan. Meaning it targetted the west.

It's hardly as cut and dry as that.  Is every Japanese game on the 360 targeting the west when it sells more in the US?  The Gamecube in the US had about a 350% higher userbase than the userbase in Japan at their respective releases.  You can't act like that had no impact.

Doing a limited shipment was not a good idea since the game would have sold more if they shipped more copies.  Now people who still don't have it will either borrow if it from a friend or buy a used copy which will reduce the game's sales

Well don't they sell better in Japan most of the time, despite the western userbase being larger?
