Forums - Sony - LittleBigPlanet allows users to charge for created content

People will eventually learn when nobody is willing to pay for their levels. Everything will be free to share in no time. I hope.

Hmm, I hope charging doesn't become common, the User Content was a big plus for the game for me, but I doubt I would pay for any of it. Plus this opens the door for potential scams, and the problem of your friends having levels that you don't. This is the first bad news I've heard about the game.

Currently Playing:  Saints Row 2 | Battlefield 2 | Company of Heroes

Recently Beaten: Gears of War | Super Mario Galaxy | Darwinia | MGS4 | Sam and Max Ep. 4, Portal | Mirror's Edge | Uncharted | Mass Effect

Looking Forward to: Alan Wake | Splinter Cell : Conviction | The Last Guardian | Batman: Arkham Asylum | SMG2 | Mass Effect 2 |

It's a really stupid idea. People will be more incited to download levels if they are free. If you start putting user generated dlc, people will not participate. Or if they do, they are likely not to spend that money on other DLC that actually bring money to Sony.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I wonder if Sony or anyone else gets a cut of each sale?

Yeah, I was actually pretty interested in getting this game but I'm not going to pay for user created stuff.  It could be the most awesome fantastic level ever and I still don't want to pay for it.

Also, I don't think the community will eventually just revolt against the pay for content.  There will always be dorks that pay for the worst of the levels so it's pretty much there to stay and that sucks.

Link to an unlocked thread that's older than this one about the same topic and I'll lock this one.

And yeah, I had small hopes for the community being successful but if true this squashed that small hope.

Not everything will be charged.

Only levels from chosen developers and/or users who have many well received levels.

The majority of levels will still be free.  Keep hope alive!

It would be cool if people didn't buy them but for each download you get like .50 in your wallet.

Its going to do more harm than good...

By me:
