I think it is a great strategy. The PS2 currently appeals to the casual gamers.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

they have a 10 year plan for the PS2, so why shouldnt they make games for it still, the PS2 has also sold over 100m consoles, so games on it will make money for them

Around 130 (!)

As long as the games made appeal to me I'm fine with it.

The PS2 has sold more than the 360 and PS3 over the last 18 months, and over 25 million consoles since 2006.  There is a large market of casual consumers who do not want to spend hundreds on a game console, and PS2 fills the needs of that market.

I think it's cool.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Its good beacuse ps2 still sells quite well so why not.

Betting on two horses, doubles your chances...

And indeed the ps2 is like the casual, affordable, with large game database, 'younger' brother of the Ps3 which is expensive/exclusive and thus more hardcore
