I'm getting a 360 tomorrow, but I won't be able to connect it to the internet for a couple of weeks. I was wondering what that means in relation to creating a gamertag. Also I was wondering whether I would have to run a system update before being able to play (I'm going to trade in UTIII which I get free with the system and buy LO), and if it is possible to update via usb.

You can create a profile on you 360, but it won't be your gamertag. If you know what I mean.

you can play without an update. idk about downloading on a computer though

You won't have to update the firmware - the only reason to do so is if you connect online and if you connect online the firmware will be updated anyway.

Unless you go online you don't need an update...for any game.

If you are talking about xbox 1 compatibility update...you can do it by byrning it to the CD and putting the CD in to your xbox... hope that helps.
