4 copies of Wii fit have been sold for every copy of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption sold (according to VG chartz). I'm also willing to bet that Wii fit cost 1/4 to develop. These figures put Nintendos E3 presentations into perspective and provide insight as to why Animal Crossing was the Wii "core gamers game" showcased.

I LOOOOVE Animal Crossing, but it has to be the most casual game I ever played after Super Rubadub.

Expect this trend to continue.

Yep why do they even announce games like Pikmin 3, New Mario, New Zelda? They should just stop putting efforts into these Core games. Casual games sell so much better, and there is no point in having core games anymore.  Also Metroid has sold so good on previous consoles. Just look at all of those sales. Nintendo has gone to the casualz. Expect 10 Wii titles per year./Sarcasm.

The problem is that there are no true artists at Nintendo, they're all just shrewd businessmen. That is what is destroying gaming, the fact that it is being run by businessman that know not one thing about art.

Is that a bad thing?

That depends on your definition of art. To me Super Metroid, and Majora's Mask are two examples of amazing art. To you they could just be crap.

As long as Nintendo can turn a profit producing games like Metroid Prime 3 (and they did turn a pretty massive profit) they will continue to make these games.

i love Metroid Prime 3 and Animal Crossing....

i think Animal Crossing will be huge, 10m sales on Ds some year after selling 1m on GC, has increased it's popularity, and the additional functions.... the game will be a hit!!

i can't wait for it!!

*MP3 sure deserves more than Wii Fit, but MP3 is a game that can be rented + the balance board is needed for other games as well, so there was no chance Wii Fit could not sell (still holding up high)

*come on, core games like Zelda, Mario, SSBB sold over 4 million, how can you say Nintendo ignores gamers??

 Because a true artist would only ever make a game that you would enjoy right? A true artist wouldn't make a game like Killer 7 and then create something like No More Heroes. True artists always compromise what they want to make in a game to strictly adhere to your irrelevant demand to have a "deep" story in a game.
