Serious question.

We can speculate sales all we want, but it'll be interesting to see who is going to declare right now that they are going to buy x360 mainly for FFXIII.

So let's start a list. Copy and paste the list of names (buy) into your post from the next highest up. If your going to just borrow from friend to play it, put your name and (borrow). If your going to buy a X360 only because of FFXIII announcement (announcement), not because of game itself, post that too.

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

well, IF FFXIII would be ready for this fall/Xmas

it would be an major sales blow for Sony because this year, the Xbox360 will become more and more affordable (particularly in Europe right now) while the PS3 will stick at the expensive 400$/euros.

Since FFXIII jumped from the supposed "spring 2009" for "somewhere in 2010", PS3 will have dropped in price for the release (300$/euros) and will be a lot more affordable at this time.

I dunno, but i know a few friends that have 360 that aren't going to get a ps3 now that FF is coming on 360 as well.
