VC - Ogre Battle March of the Black QueenYea its pretty bad. Considering Sonic is like Mario, able to solve any problem through speed and jumping, the use of a sword is neglecting traditional platform genre definitions. Its pretty pathetic. Mario will never use a gun (fireballs r a mere extension of the characters expected narrative conventions)
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
^If you ask me, giving Sonic a sword is like giving Shadow vehicles. Not many people seemed to complain when Shadow was made to drive vehicles.

Are you sure about that?
I mean, REALLY sure?
Go ahead and check the previews and breaking news for that game again. I can wait.
Well, I've read those reviews on GameFAQs on Sonic 2006, and there are just so many complaints, but they seem to be focused on awkward controls, Sonic's speed, loading times, glitches and even the story. Blah blah.... But Shadow's vehicles aren't in the spotlight.
But anyway, as long as I'm allowed to move Sonic at my own pace (it's hard to make precise jumps when he's running so fast), I shouldn't have many complaints about this game.
