That brings up another question. What would I need to get the 360 online. I have a wired network... I run a home business so I have no intestions of messing with my setup (e.g. wireless). Is it as simple as connecting the 360 to the router?

you need:

1 xbox 360

1 ethernet cable

1 router or modem

1 internet connection

1 silver or gold account (silver is free, but you should get a month gold for free just by signing up anyways)

directions:

plug ethernent cable from your modem/router into your xbox360. turn power on. create an online account. and there you go.

You made it sound so simple :)

Perhaps I'm going off topic and should start a new thread but since you're hear.  What are the differences between Silver and Gold... can I play online with Silver?

Check out my games for sale eBay and Toycatacomb

I am no writer but I try

gold is required for online play... $3-5 a month depending on where you look

the OS takes up a lot of space, so you are not getting the 20GB, it is closer to 15GB

Better if you bought a PS3:)

Wrong...

The OS is stored on a Flash rom, the reason for that discrepency is that Hard drives are rated for decimel bytes 1,000,000 bytes = megabyte whereas operating systems report them in Binary bytes - 1,024,000 bytes = 1 megabyte IIRC and the Xbox360 has a few gigs set aside for game caching as well.

And its about 13.9gb for the maximum available HDD space on the 20gb.

Tease.

Ok, I just assumed that was what it was, but it is still quite annoying that you do not get anywhere near the advertised drive space

True, but dude wants a 360 so let him get one.

If you must have a 360, then buy the $299 pro. When you take in account the price for extra HDD, it is still cheaper than an Elite.

A very, very large portion of that missing 7GB is due to the partition for game saves, and backwards compatability. You can download the entire Xbox 360 BC software, and put a few gigs of saves without taking up any of that 13GB of space. Trust me on this.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
