I love how the OP also happened to try to skew it more in favor of Sony with the PS3 also including BC which Sony has already stated won't have anymore. Biased much?

If you are trying to see how much people value each console, then the best thing to do is to see what they go for on average at an auction.

I'm gonna say this, all these people saying PS3 is the most for your money. Value is relative, if you don't use it how can you calculate it into the perceived "value" of the item?

For instance, I don't use PS3 as a blu-ray player or DVD player except on rare occasions. I don't use DLC in fact I'm adamantly against paying for it as I never want games to be purely down loadable I want physical copies always and forever.

I don't use my system to store Pictures video or anything else for that matter.

If I want a game system purely for games(which is what I want) I'm going with Wii as the best since it holds the most games I'm interested in(seemingly the mass market agrees as well) and the PS3 as lowest because there's nothing coming to it I -have- to have within the foreseeable future that isn't on the 360 also.

please don't take this as a fact or as an attack I'm merely pointing out you're placing general rules on a society that follows anything but. People have opinions and most people own PC's which do most of the stuff the PS3 can do even blu-ray. But the wii does something most PC's cannot do therefore it wins out on originality for me.

Wii is not worth it`s money.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

i know one thing for sure if all consoles cost 250 dollars, then the ps3 would be kicking the wii's ass all over the place!

true, if ps3 was $250 then everyone in the world would have bought one by now!
