the Conduit unfortunatly

unforunately? I assume that is under the assumption The Conduit actually turns out to be a decent game.

High Voltage doesn't exactly have a history of top notch games, heck their best rated game is *checks* All Star Baseball 2001 for the N64.

Sadness for wii cuz it will probably sell 0 games due to not being made.

Kickin' Those Games Old School.       -       201 Beaten Games And Counting

Unfair. Too Human was by far not as hyped as the other two. It will fail but from a much lower level of expectations.

And the Conduit is mainly hyped ... here. Or at least disproportionally so. So it will fail grandiosely compared to the hype in this forum but it will most likely do well compared to its budget and to expectations.

And Killzone2? This is different. Its not so much hyped in this forum as it is hyped by Sony. Many people are still burned by Killzone1. I have seen many people emphasize the amazing graphics but I have not yet heard anyone say it will outsell Halo3. (Which it won't) Sales will be critical because its such an expensive high-profile title. Bad reviews and bad sales would really hurt Sony.

Now before you start calling me a fanboy troll, don't get me wrong, I think it will be a fantastic game but I just don't think it's going to sell well. And even after release I don't think the community will be that awesome.

Totally agreed. The market is not there on the PS3 for this game to be successful.

I think we should wait till it is released before we make statements like that, unless of course you have met all 14 Million+ PS3 owners.

If the game gets enough advertising and the reviews to go with it, people will take notice.

This would be a lot easier to decide if there was some uniform metric that could be used to determine "Failure" of each of the games ... Unfortunately, that is not the case.

The Conduit is faited to sell at a level where it turns a healthy profit for the publisher and the developer, High Voltage will be able to coninue making mainstream games (rather than licenced crap), and yet it will probably be called a failure by some people because it only sold 1/8th as much as Wii Fit.

Killzone 2 will (probably) sell enough units to break even, and be a fairly good (but not great) game but is doomed to be used in endless forum battles about which system is more powerful because, although it will be visually impressive, it will be render below 720p and will suffer framerate issues in some places.

Too Human will be a game that will never sell well enough to overcome the opportunity cost of being in development for a decade, will have a ton of problems which are associated with such a long development cycle, and yet will have moments of brilliance which (almost) make up for the flaws.

probably LBP

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

I mean I would say Conduit for Wii but just way too early in the lifecycle to tell. I mean doesn't even have a publisher yet to see how advertising will go. Until a publisher is decided and see what their outlook is for the title, jsut can't say.

Wii= Fatal Frame IV- I'm just not seeing enough advertising and spread of the name being done. I'm hoping an event later this year will alleviate that but until then nada.

PS3= White Knight Story- no explanation just a guess.

360= Tales of Vesperia- sorry but just not enough Japanese support to push sales up high. And so far from what I know, Symphonia has been the only one to take off outside of Japan.

Well, your profile says that you are 20, so you are a good candidate for this question. Now, without reading deeply into it, what is your choice of the following 2 movies to watch - Teletubbies or Transformers?

Teletubbies clearly

I'm not saying that LBP is gonna be a 5 Million+ hit, but we really don't know how the PS3 market is going to respond to this, as there is no really good comparison. LBP may not have that "hardcore" look to it, but I'm confident that most people will not look at the graphics and simply say "that game sucks, its for kids". I'm sure a large portion of PS3 owners have seen this game since it was announced at GDC 2007 and have (to some extent) followed its development.

Now this evidence is clearly anecdotal, but each one of my good friends that has a PS3 is pysched for this game and each person has their own preference in genre's. I think people see the nifty graphics, the multiplayer aspect, the great gameplay physics and get interested in it.
