The closer it is for all systems, the better it is for everyone.
I hope the Wii does slow down a bit, and has its place for party and minigames or spinoff titles. That's the only kind of games I'll buy this system for. If MGS5 and FFXIV come out for Wii, I'm cutting out of gaming for a while.
So I hope Xbox 360 + PS3 will at least get 50% of the market share. In a couple of weeks, I'll be a PS360 owner.

That's why I am sad. My kind of games don't make the profits DS Mind games reap and thus Developers will increasingly shift design dollars towards the Wii as opposed to PS3/Xbox360. There's always hope for the next gen.
Yup. The problem IS developers.
No the problem IS ecomomics. I'm sure most developers would rather work on games that you, meowmints, like. The problem is that they can't because the majority of consumers will rather purchase brain training games.
Unfortunatly, it's the way economics work - if no one gives you money for your games, you're not getting any money from making the game.
Perhaps some industries would benefit from communism.

sony will not make too much money off of the ps3. the will change their economics and make it more affordable for devs and consumers. the brand name sold them a bunch of units and they are happy about that. the come from behind win showed them that cost matters a ton, but the games they made got them the win.
nintendo will have made a crap load of money and opened up to third parties. their console failed to win cause they ignored graphics, but succeeded cause they emphasized gameplay.
ms failed to break even on the console. they got sales cause they got third parties to make games for them and started having a good first party but their first party is still killed by nintendo and sony. they failed since they couldnt make casual games.
360=50m-60m So far I like most of the games on the 360. Wii=50m-60m I love Nintendo but so far not to impressed with the Wii. PS3=30m-40m So far nothing looks good to me on the PS3.
DS- 90 million
PSP- 60 million
Wii- 50 million
PS3- 110 million
360- 30 million
This is kind of a mix of what I want and expect. PS3 lasts 10 years, Wii lasts 4 years, 360 lasts 5.
