Fallout.
Diablo II if it is considered WRPG. Other than that, I have never been crazy about WRPG's at all, although I could play Fable forever.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Fable was good but overhyped. Fortunately, Fable 2 is suppose to be amazing and the only game that Peter Molyneux didn't overhype according to recent previews.

How so? I said I like to do everything and many WRPGs allow you to do too much and in many cases, you can't do everything in one playthrough. This is especially true with a game like Fallout, where as you progress, you make choices that can prove to be undoable for the rest of the game. I then feel I'm missing whatever story or dialogue would have been had I made a different choice. It eats at me. How does any of that have to do with JRPGs?

Hmm. I see now what you were trying to say in your post. Sorry for the confusion.
Oblivion for single player, Diablo II if you do online.

I was originally going to say this too, but it doesn't technically qualify as a WRPG, since the entire game is on-rails. It's a damn good game, though, and anyone who hasn't played it yet should (it's freeware now, to boot). |
How is Krondor on-rails? You can walk anywhere, as long as it isn't on a mountain. Yes, it's somewhat linear (in the fact that you don't have access to 100% of the map at any given time), but you can walk anywhere, and do tons of stuff outside of the main quest...Or did you decide to just use the "only walk on road" option?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
Of all times?
Baldur's Gate 2,
Kotor 1,
Fallout 2,
Ultima Underworld 1,
Ultima 7a/b,
Fallout 1,
Gothic 1,
Morrowind,
Hmm RPGs really didn't improve over time, I think I would make the same list if all came out today.
BTW this is the list of best RPGs. JRPGs are not on it because I cannot stand anime movies with androgynous protagonists.
