Having such a huge cast of characters an amazing enough feat, but the story works out pretty well regardless of which ones you use. And one of them is a Mexican wrestler! Take that, every other RPG! Surely there are worse disappointments than Super Mario Bros 2, as well. It's fun in its way. |
You're kidding, right? The worse part of Chrono Cross was their amount of playable characters. None of them are even worth remembering cuz their stories or background was an afterthought from the creators that one would never get attached to them. What made Trigger so great was that you could simpathize with every single one of their characters in one way or another, and they all had some sort of epic background (well except perhaps the Robot) that you couldn't help but like 'em. In Cross they totally forgot the importance of the storyline behind the characters, it seemed more like "hey, lets throw this sterotypical character in here, now let's throw another stereotypical character there, now let's just write 2 sentences about them and we're done!"
Cross will always be subpar to Trigger and even in its own without being a direct sequel, it doesn't deserve any appraisal.
