Forums - Microsoft - Valve have new games in development for 360, NO interested in PS3 or Wii.

valve should stick to only making games on pc

Why?

@machu_pichu
I recall Gabe Newell expressing interest in developing for the Wii, but I don't think there was any word on any planned games.

bcause they make great games on pc,and if they divide their teams the quality could get worse

Well, this confirms Left 4 Dead isn't coming to PS3.

But yeah, I thought they were making a Wii game...

No it doesn't, who ported Orange Box to PS3? Valve said they will allow 3rd parties to port over to PS3, explaining that it is easy with games like Half Life because there is lots of interest, but they didn't know if the interest was there for Left 4 Dead. I wouldn't be surpised to see it on PS3 6 months after the 360 version is released.

Hopefully, for the moment, MS is not able to get Blizzard on their pocket ...

Time to Work !

But they don't split teams, they finish the work, port it and them move on...

If it's an issue of dividing their dev teams, would you find it acceptable if Valve focuses exclusively on the 360?

Yea half-assed ports(Lost planet, Orange Box) for PS3 ftw!!!

Makes sense. Despite being awesome they are small development group. Why waste the time learning new things when you can stick to PC and port to 360 easy.

well if they want to loose money it's their choice.

really how many "hardcore" games have profitable these recent year?

All the valve ones.  Valve makes money because they are the best of the best when it comes to PC shooters.

Just because Valve has no interest in making games for Ps3 doesnt mean they wont let EA port their games for the Ps3, just that they wont do it themselves.....right?

Well if you want more shit ports of Valve games by EA then I'm sure you have some crappy games to buy in your future.  I have no doubts there will be more crappy EA ports of Valve games in the future (Episode 3 and Left 4 Dead at the top of that list), the question is, why do people actually buy them?

Glad to know they aren't wasting time making games for PS3 and Wii, they have enough trouble just releasing Half life episodes in less than 2 year spans.
