Forums - Sales - First day sold in japan, Folks Soul bombs hard...

Yeah I saw that a while ago.

Also, who are these people who predicted this game to suddenly boost PS3 sales to incredible levels? I mean I predicted better sales than this and a little boost, but what is this backlash against supposedly people saying it will be a massive hit.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

That's where you're wrong. Motion controls can add a whole new dimension to the experience.

Like in Wii-sports? In this boxing mini-game? Sorry but it just doesn't work. There won't be full motion control in games like Tekken in this century. It's way too complex.

You're right, it would be very difficult to have a fighting game with full motion control. I do think we will see it happen before we die... I hope.

blah blah random post.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

The fanboys.

I think we can all agree, however, that if EG5 does not boost PS3 sales-considering it is BIG franchise in Japan- THEN we really have a huge flop on our hands.

We need a concrete definition of 'preorders'. It seems like store orders have often been given the name preorders if it is just stores ordering copies to sell.

Is preordering common in Japan? Are people pushed to preorder from retailers like they are with EB/Gamestop here? 300k preorders seems like an awful lot when that's 30% of the installed base for the PS3. I don't believe that number.

There is no standard.

God of War 2 had 1 million preorders for the US, but didn't sell much more than that.

Pokemon DP had 500k preorders for the US, and will sell millions more than that.

To me wii tennis is the most fun ive had playing a tennis game ever and thats thanks to the wii remote...so the answer to your question is yes, it adds a whole new dimention to the experience..

I'm not saying it doesn't work with wii-tenis but is it able to tell apart forehand and backhand move? When I looked on this game movement on the screen wasn't precise. How about speed control? In fact Wiimote is pretty primitive. AFAIK it needs starting points to calculate movement. I can't even imagine how it would work with real fighter. Punching in the air is one thing real deal is something totally different - How about legs, bodymove, jumps etc.

... I'm moving this thread off-topic once again

Full-motion control, probably not. Motion control enhanced gameplay, most definitely.

It's not about replacing every single thing with motion controls. But creatively adding it in places that can make the experience more fun.

A thread this long usually went off-topic half-way through the first page.

Perhaps, they would definitely have to change the game a lot. There are some actions that require 2 simultaneous button presses, or even 3. So the whole fighting engine would have to be built from the ground up. It would be very difficult to develop since fighters require very fast and precise button presses. I would hate to end my 10 hit combo at hit number 4 due to a misread of the controls.

Thanks for derailing the thread kber81
