Wii sports Resort isn't coming out to 09.

Neither is FFXIII, Resi 5, and Star Ocean 4.

DC Universe, MAG, God of War III, inFAMOUS, and Killzone 2 coming out in 09. But Sony showed DC universe, inFAMOUS and Killzone 2. So they don't really count.

The rest that Sony showed was 08.

Again, bull.  GoW3 is not coming on 09.   Not a chance.  If it was, again it would have been in the trailer.  The only time Sony gave a release date for GoW3 was on the show floor while be being pressured by press.

God of War was released on March 22, 2005 in North America.

God of War II was released on March 13, 2007 in North America.

Unless the progression changes, we can expect God of War III in March of 2009.

That completely ignores unfamiliar hardware and extended development time for high definition games.

Using PS2 schedules is a bad way to try to predict PS3 releases.

By the end of 2009, they'll have been working on God of War III for about three years. That seems like enough time to develop the game to me.

And I don't think they'll have that much trouble developing for the ps3, as other Sony studio like Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games, and Insomniac have already done the brunt work of engine development.   SCEWWS work together on ps3 engine tech, and Sony Santa Monica are very efficient developers (some of Sony's best, just look at what they did with God of War II on the ps2), so I don't think it will take them that long to develop the game compared to everybody else.

Hell, Guerilla Games mentioned having been helped by Sony Santa Monica with engine development for Killzone 2, so it appears they've got quite a handle on the ps3's technology already.

I think a lot of Sony fanboys are pretending to be excited about those PS3 exclusives because we simply don't have anything else exclusive to look forward too.

For instance, I can understand LBP and GoW3, but not killzone, socom, or GAW(wtf ever that mmo is called, who cares really).

Resistance is really the only "good" one.

I think we can all agree that Nintendo's PC was the most dissapointing.

However, I think Naz was referring to the later announcements that Pikmin Wii was being release, along with new games from Zelda and Mario teams, along with exclusives like Madworld.

Thing is, Nintendo didn't make itself look good with the games it showed. However, it had a lot of games that for some reason it didn't show. Like 3rd party games. MS and Sony both showed 3rd party games, actually I think most of those games were 3rd party. Nintendo didn't.

Now, as far as I know, all three press conferences were crap and nothing good was announced, at all, unless your a 360 only owner, in which case FFXIII was announced.

If you wanna spin that around, then you're expecting too little from your favorite hobby.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

@DMJ

How come 3 days after you cried yourself to sleep and figured you weren't gonna buy a PS3 this gen are you back, more feverantly in Sony's corner than ever, leading the battle for Anti-Wii/360 sentiment on these forums?

Did Sony announce something at their conference that changed your mind? It certainly wasn't a game we would care about.

Did you feel guilty for your betreyal, or did you figure you were just so invested already, than it was too late to change ships?

Remember when you asked us all if we thought you were a PS3 fanboy, and we said yes, despite your good behavior?

We were right, lol. We were so right. You can't help yourself. You can not help yourself. I understand.

I think the FFXIII beatings have changed you a little. Hardened you. Made you a more devoted and loyal soldier in this war.

However, know this. Marginalizing Nintendo based upon your unimportant, unquantifiable, and disreputable opinion won't do anything but hurt your cause when the backlash of the numbers comes for you and your "playstation" family.

You will rue this day, Sony fanboy. Wii have not yet begun to fight.

@Zen

ohhh....ya see you had me going there, all agreeing with you. But then you used wii as a pun for "we" and then I wished your father had smashed his nuts with a hammer before conceiving you.

Other than that though.....'s true DMJ is even more adamant then ever. It's kinda weird really, since he still hasn't bought one, but whatever. I try not to let it keep me awake at night.

...

I think it's KZ2 and FFXIII that have given people this false notion that ps3 games take ages and ages to develop.

Take a look at other developers: Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Sony Liverpool, Evolution Studios, etc. all seem to be making games just fine, and Sony Santa Monica are better than half those studios (and arguably all of them).

Hell, even Polyphony Digital, the kings of delays due to their incessant perfectionism, managed to get Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (which is the size of a full game, despite not being labeled as such) out in a timely fashion. Less than two years, I think.

I skipped over most of the bickering, but here's what's going on. It's just like last year, only this time Nintendo had more expanded-audience stuff to show off so it took up basically the whole time.

Nintendo knows that their core fanbase is paying attention 24/7. They know that there's no need to waste precious E3 time on them, which is about the only time that the mainstream media is paying attention and they can get word of their lighter fare to those intended audiences. If MS and Sony actually had success reaching that audience en masse they'd probably be following the same strategy.

You'll hear more about core titles at dedicated PR events that all the enthusiast press will be at anyway, some time later this year.

Its amazing how many times this can be said and people continue to ignore it.

E3, like every corporate endeavor, has people who evaluate the time, effort, and money that goes into the event and what they want those resources to create for them.

To put it into gaming terms:

Its like that portion of a game where you can buy the super special armor from the shop but only that one time! Once you leave the shop it will never be for sale again.  So Nintendo is spending all their rupees on the shiny new armor while the "hardcore" want them to stock up on deku seeds, bombs, and arrows.
