Forums - Gaming - An interesting tidbit on the FF series (regarding FFXIII)

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but I found it kind of.... funny that FF13 is coming out on the 360 for a certain reason. While the PS3 is still getting the game, I'm definitely seeing a funny pattern that might be beginning.

(I'm only counting the "main" series here)

All of the FF games were on Nintendo consoles up to 6. Then Square made the shocking announcement that it was switching over to Sony. The next 6 games were all on Sony exclusives. Now we're at the start of a new batch of 6 games, and Square(-Enix) has yet again has switched things around.

Think it will continue every 6 games? Or is this just a fluke? Either way, I found it interesting that these two "huge" changes took place after 6 games each time.

I never thought of that, it's actually interesting but a pure coincidence? Or a sign the market changes on average every 6 years.

Whoa whoa whoa....they don't make a FF every year dude....think your numbers may be off

...

I noticed. Still again you can't compare this mega betrayal to the one Square did to Ninty in the 90's. Unless you were too young to have played FF on SNES.

Well, FFXI was a multi-plat (PS2/360/PC), as were FFVII and FFVIII if you count the PC.

Also, thinking of the title "Final Fantasy XVIII" made me a little sick to my stomach, for some reason.

Seriously? I never knew that. I can understand why people are tweaked out about the new announcement..but if there's been multiplatform games before, why the huge outcry now?

I guess it's because many fans thought of FF13 as the big hurrah for the PS3 as far as third parties are concerned?

By the way, for some reason I hate typing out the Roman Numerals for FF, so you'll see me typing out the numbers in english a lot more often. =P

FFVII - 7 is a lucky number and the PSX excelled beyond all expectations.

FFXIII - 13 is an unlucky number so the Xbox360 is DOOOOMED.

Thats all I have to say.

Tease.
