It could be done in 480p and still look very stunning. People are forgetting that the wii is capable of producing beautiful games. It's just that alot of developers are lazy. Plus the wii does take dual layer discs like the Xbox 360 so size wouldn't be an issue.

Will it be released on the wii? Probably not? Could it be done and still look amazing? Definately.

No. It shouldn't.
I don't want a downgraded game.

Besides, SquareEnix might do a spinoff exclusive for Wii.
It seems SquareEnix seems to be focusing a lot of their games on Nintendo consoles anyway =)

Also, I see SquareEnix leaning towards Wii for KH3.
I know it's not entirely their decision; Disney as well.

I doubt Disney will even dispute it be developed for Wii even exclusive.
And a spinoff on DS - Similar to Mario&Sonic.

Disgaea 3 and Valkyrie Chronicles with 2 mln. PS3 userbase did GOOD compared to 6 mln. Wii userbase.)

Moreover, FFXIII is ALREADY in developement for PS3, so it doesn`t need to prove anything, while Wii has kinda weak jrpg sales. =)

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Sorry but ToS 2 will probably sell double what both of those sold. And they probably had smaller developement costs. Oh and Dragon Quest Swords( A spinoff btw) sold 5 times what those games sold in japan alone, and Fire Emblem sold almost a few ten k more than Valkaryia and even more than that against Disgaea 3. Fire Emblem was released in japan on a much smaller install base than there is now btw, probably close to the ps3s. So I don't know where you got the same from. Oh and the wii's install base is ever increasing at a faster rate than the ps3s. So the bigger it gets, the more the games will sell.
