Forums - General - Nas:Untitled

Nas, my favourite rapper and the man who defined the 90's, is back with a new album that I've been really anticipating, and I'm listening to it, and I really don't know what to make of it.  The lyrical power is so daunting, that it eclypsis some of his older work.  He's still got it, and his intellectual power is only further enfasized by the mild and below par beats.  There's my problem, I've been listening to new rap for so long, I've forgotten what rap is really supposed to sound like, and I realize that I love this album trapped in the 90's, but is this a recipie for comercial faliure?  I hope not, but I truly think Nas has done rap justice.  And that might be his down fall

Any thoughts on the album?

Around the Network

I gotta get my hands on this. Nas is simply THE BEST rapper alive. Lil Wayne may be hot right now, and mindless crap like "Lookin' Boy" may dominate the radio waves, but Nas is timeless. He deserves success. Lyrical content doesn't get much respect, nowadays.

is it out already? i love nas and have his entire disography. I wasn't such a fan of hip-hop is dead but it was still ok. I heard the single with Keri Hilson a week back, it sounds strong. I hope the album follows suit

looking forward to it
