Only because of the subject matter though, and the japanese way of not being PC about things... like religion.

Thank god for that man... I don't remember any RPG's save for theirs tackling "forbidden" subjects...

Yep. Off the top of my head
Soul Nomad and the World Eaters Phanom Brave La Pucelle Tactics Makai Kingdom. Basically expect fair solid gameplay for a SRPG and a hilarious story. |
Can anyone speak on the quality of Soul Nomad? I loved their other games (although I thought Phantom Brave was a bit dull compared to the other), but overlooked this one for some unknown reason.
I may pick it up if it shares at least the same charm as their other games.
very good digging zexen! That is some good info.

It's very good. But different. The Humor is still there. Which i agree was lacking in Phantom Brave (though I think Phantom Brave had the best mechanics.)
The gameplay is different though.
You make "Groups" of characters like you would in a game like Ogre Battle. When you attack you can go into an "Ogre battle" type screen and everyone on your team gets an attack... if applicable. (No ranged attacks for front row swordsman)
Basically your this really polite guy or girl. (Girl being slightly more funny) and you've got a deranged killer with unbelivable powers stuck in your head.
There are "Room inspections" which are kinda like the item world... and you can pick fights with any NPC in the game! Though the NPCs are met through menus instead of the Disgaea free roaming.
You can rob, steal, force NPCs to join your army! Etc. Even random townspeople.

Not really, both P3 and FES sold pretty much the same in Japan and the US (check this site). And EGM posted a rumor two or three months ago that after P4 Atlus would make a Persona game for the PS3 and one for the PSP. Both have been announced ages ago (Persona PSP would be a remake of the very first Persona, and the PS3 would be a new SMT title). Check their gamespot pages: http://www.gamespot.com/psp/rpg/persona/index.html?tag=login;dropdown http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/shinmegamitensei/index.html?tag=login;dropdown There have been no announcements since then, but Atlus has been teasing the Faithful (basically a newsletter) for some time with this Okay, it feels like we're always ending these blasts the same way, but here goes: Faithful... We're not done announcing titles for this year. We know, it's crazy. More to come in the near future, of course. Near future? Could that be a hint? OMG! I think Atlus may announce officially a PS3 title soon. Of course, it could be a new Trauma Center for the Wii, who knows. And if both Atlus and Nippon choose the PS3 to develop their main titles, then my JRPG platform has been officially decided |
Persona 3 did about 120K first week in Japan while Persona 3 did 35K First week USA. The totals SAY the are the same, but if you look at them you'll notice the numbers don't add up.
The numbers end up the same, but i'd think it's more likely do to US sales being more percise. Seems insane that the same game would have both really awesome and really crappy legs.
