It's funny how Sony fanboys are acting like nothing happened with FF!!!Hahaha!!I still remember reading in a thread by Sony fans that 360 had the best line-up of rpgs but that didn't matter cause PS3 would have the rpg of rpgs,FFXIII!!Come on,admit it!M$ kicked Sony's ass!!It's like Sony had announced Halo for PS3!What would you say then?M$ IS THE WINNER BY FAR!Imagine what is about to happen if Konami decides to surprise us too...Many people will lose their sleep...(that comes someone that is not a big fan of MGS OR FF franchises)

Kicked Sony's ass??? I hardly think so. FF is a slap at best. Ps3 still gets the game. If it was exlusive it might quailfy as an ass kicking. All 3 were underwhelming, Sony just looked less foolish than the others.  Go back and watch all them. I watched MS and Sony's this morning and Sony straight up had more to show.  MS was a decent show but all they really talked about was the industry as a whole, growth, how  games compare to other types of entertainment, etc.  Sony showed games and talked about games. All MS did was remind us that gaming is a business to them and how they want to dominate it.

I think Sony showed more confidence in their lineup as well. Also, Sony got the biggest responses from the crowd.

I gotta admit though GOW2, thats an ass kickin game!

Sony - 9 (I was really entertained and I thought Jack Tretton did an excellent job presenting this year. Last year was his first year and he was too nervous
No one else made the typically boring numbers & charts entertaining as Sony did with Little Big Planet. That was genius. The Sony conference was longer than the rest of them but held my attention the whole time.
Sony showcased 2008 for the most part with 5 main games shown for 2009: Infamous, RE5, GOW3, Killzone 2, and MAG)

Xbox - 8 (Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, and RE5 were excellent. Feel bad for Rare who, instead of designing games is relegated to designing costumes and avatars for Xbox Mii's. I thought the new interface for Live looked slick though and of course the FFXIII was a welcome shocker to 360 fans. So far the roles are reversed and the 360 is king this gen for RPG's)

Nintendo - 4 (Very annoying lady presenter, should have used Reggie the whole time. Nothing new for the core gamer, it was the worst e3 conference Nintendo has had in years. The Wiimote plus is a cool thing to further improve the technology of motion controls but I don't see casual gamers rushing out to buy these extra $$ accessories for their wii sports. Wii speak gets Nintendo online games up to speed with in game chat. They did say they have new games for their top franchises Zelda & Mario in the works and likely it's just too early to show anything concrete. Just wasn't exciting and everyone seems to agree Nintendo was last for the press conference this year)

Honestly, I think they were all focused on completely different things that makes it very difficult to directly compare, and with the lack of anything new or earth-shattering from any of the console manufacturers it was a fairly disapointing show ...

As I said in another thread ( http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=33670&start=0 ) I think there was a lot of things people missed or misunderstood about the Nintendo conference. I could be wrong but I suspect why they avoided announcing a big first party "Core" game was they were focusing more on third party efforts and didn't want to outshine them. On top of that I thought Nintendo had the most unknown information in their conference but (at the same time) most of the new information was not as impressive (or as well presented) as it could have been.

I think these scores are unwarranted, the best approach would be to simply ignore this abbhorrent expo alltogether and force them to have more substance on other shows instead. Someone, please, kill E3, it had a good run up until a couple of years ago but has seriously become completely redundant.

MGS has been released on the XBox before, so that wouldn't really be that shocking of a revelation.  Most 3rd party exclusives are timed-exclusives nowadays anyway.  Is Bioshock going to PS3 a huge deal?  Not really as far as I'm concerned since I've already played it on the 360.   If MGS4 gets released on the 360 6 months later, is that going to be big deal?  Again, I wouldn't think so since when MGS2 got released on the Xbox it went largely unnoticed, especailly in terms of the sales numbers.  The FFXIII announcement was huge no doubt, but let's not make it seem like the game is now a XBox exclusive.  It's going to be available for both systems and the 360 version will be a port.  Plus if I have a choice, I'm clearly going to get the 1-disc blu-ray version vs the 4/5/6-disc DVD version.

In terms of creating a real buzz for the press to rave about, Nintendo won. And that is the whole purpose of these conferences. You'll see a lot about it in the lifestyle segments of news sources in days to come.
