I mean... I gotta figure Japan is worth like... 2.5-3 million copies alone all for PS3. Maybe i'm being crazy optimistic?

Aside from that i'd say .5-1 million on PS3 in the US. 1-3 Million in the US on 360.

.25-1 million in europe for PS3 and about the same for 360... leaning a little more on the low side.

Really it could sell even more.  It'll sell between 5-10 million, and if i had to bank... i'd bank near 10.  Unless everyone gets sick of FF after waiting so long.

It has exclusivity in Japan and by the time it's out in the West the PS3 should have a considerable lead over the 360 in others and be closer to the 360 in America.

but I've heard Devs say "both versions will be the same" and then it ends up not being true.

I think the fact one game will be Multi-Disc and a direct port guarantees there will be differences between the two games, the question is just how much of a difference.

500k - 1M lead in Europe

The 360 version will only outsell the PS3 version by 500k in NA. The install bases will be closer by the time it is released and I would think most Multi-Console owners would take the PS3 version because it is 1 Disc and not the ported version. (unless of course upon review the 360 version is much better a la Madden 08)

If it was being released tomorrow my numbers would obviously be different, but considering it won't be released for another 1 - 2 years (depending on the region) i'm more inclined to sway the numbers in Sony's favor.

The problem is everyone is acting like its going to come out tomorrow, when its more like late 2010. Trust me, the PS3 version is going to obliterate the 360 version. It won't even be close.

The PS3 version should sell the most easily because of Japan. Japan will eat this game alive.

Final Fantasy is an ESTABLISHED game series for the PlayStation. No matter how hard Microsoft tries, I'm guessing it will sell millions more on the PS3. It just will.
