He calmed down ten minutes later and apologized. Which was quite mature of him, and I give him kudos for that.

Ahhh I'm still a die hard Nintendo fan, but I'm just a bit sad. That's about it.

And I'm a bit more sad (sadder?) now that I read this:

July 15, 2008 - Wii Fit features a snowboarding game. Wii Sports Resort, meanwhile, boasts a very Wave Race inspired jet-ski option. But what about the classic Nintendo IPs that started it all? Of course, we're referring to 1080 Snowboarding and Wave Race respectively. When asked whether or not we would see the return of these major franchises, Nintendo's legendary producer, Shigeru Miyamoto, indicated that while he's currently more focused on broadening the audience, such a possibility hasn't been ruled out.

"Well, of course I worked on both 1080 and Wave Rave, so on the one hand I think it's very difficult for me to say, but I think that form in which we present the snowboarding game [in Wii Fit] and the power cruising game in Wii Sports Resort is something that's going to appeal to a much broader audience. And really, what I'm trying to do is find a way to bring these interactive experiences to as many people as possible," he said. "So I think for the time being I'm probably going to focus my attention on more of that, but if I find something that's particularly interesting or a way to take that and develop it into a much richer experience, I can't say that I'm not going to do that."

:S He is not focusing on core games right now, and he is my Videogaming idol, that hurts a lot. I still love his casual ideas, but I think there's a limit on how much people can stand before it gets out of hand.

But remember, he's reassembled the Zelda team and he's working on Pikmin 3. And there are other Nintendo superstars working on other projects too. I get your point, but I don't think things are as bleak as they seem right now. My advice: have a good meal and take a nap. Things always seem better when you wake up after.

I am disappointed too. They could have at least spend 2 minutes on a trailer showcasing there hardcore games to prove their allegiance, but instead wasted the first 10 minutes on a slideshow of people smiling playing DS and Wii games. I am glad I bought a 360 and PSP.

I wonder if nintendo will release an add-on(or peripherial) where you could erase all your gaming skills and preferences so we can enjoy "games for broader audience".

.

just shows what success will do to a company /sigh

if this is nintendos new direction then im screwing them over next gen. unless it gets down to 50 bucks like game cube =D

Owner of all consoles cept DS.....Currently in love with prototype!

Yes after giving us 1:1 motion control they are obviously turning their backs on us. Obviously. And they gave us voice chat. Oh I mean seriously they dont' care about our needs. Hell in a recent interview Miyamoto said they are trying to fix the storage space issue. And confirmed Zelda Wii and Mario team hard at work. Not to mention Kid Icarus. It is so obviously they don't care about the core gamer that they just want us to go buy a 360 and PS3.

Good games takes time ,but great game take much more time to finish.

Just be patient. :)

Be optimistic ,if casual games(if that's what you wanna use on Wii Sport Resort and Animal Crossing)come first ,so maybe they safe best for the last.
