Forums - Nintendo - People need to understand something

Think about what your saying though. Who's copying who as Reggie said. Nintendo have differentiated from the other 2 clearly, and maybe we don't like that, but fuck it as long as the business of Nintendo is different it will be successful.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I thought of this earlier while watching the conference. Investors are a high priority for something like E3.

kinda sad to see consumers being un-consumer-like.

why not just pull out your wallet and say "take as much as you want from me, you are here to make money, we understand"

After this E3 I think all videogamers are doing just that. not only Nintendo fans.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Or Consumers.

While the conference was pretty lackluster for us old school hardcore Nintendo fans, it looks like they are leaving it up to third parties for the core games this year. People have criticized Nintendo in the past for not giving third parties a chance. Now it's up to them to release the games, Mad World and the Conduit are a start.

The conference was clearly aimed at the mainstream press, what is going to be mostly featured in their reports of E3, OMG!!! FF 13 is on xbox, or the sequel to Wii Sports and Wii Music.

They should have shown the new Wario Land though, the Conduit and even Mad World. Hopefully, they have these and more playable the next few days.

Yeah I completely forgot about this, good point.  Nintendo is always criticized for smothering 3rd party games with their own software.  Yet Nintendo has nothing announced outside of Animal Crossing for this holiday season, setting up the perfect chance for 3rd parties to get a foothold on the Wii, and Nintendo is still trounced...
