is this a MMO??

Is there really a reason for this game to look as DS as it possibly can?

All previous versions of Animal Crossing were enhanced ports of the N64DD game ... The problem with that is the graphics (more or less) became a style choice on the Gamecube which (potentially) has to be maintained. If you look at the Gamecube version and compare it to the Wii version it appears that they have decided to upgrade the graphics quite a bit; although they appear to be simple in composition, the textures are very sharp and detailed (as an example).

Awesome music but what I fear is the seamness with the previous N64/GC/DS games.
New way of interaction and a lot of events via wifi24 are needed imo.

My girlfriend enjoyed the GameCube iteration. As an observer, it very much seemed like Second Life. It certainly has charm, but I don't understand the huge appeal.

To your first question, no. There is online multiplayer, though.

To your second question, yes, there is a very good reason for it to look like the DS game.

Edit: Dammit, copy/pasting tables out of the games database isn't working.

*cough* The DS version of Animal Crossing is coming up on 10 million unit sales. That's what I was trying to post. :P

I Love the theme Music.

I cant wait hitting you guys with my net.

The biggest issue with AC:WW was the fact that multiplayer was good for trading, fishing and that's about it.

There was literally NOTHING else to do in the multiplayer mode. If this game could give us SOMETHING else to do with your friends online, I'd probably pick it up.

Otherwise, I have no desire to pay 5 billion bells to that fucking raccoon again.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Hmm, yeah, I really do hope they'll give you more incentive to keep playing and use the multiplayer stuff this time around.. Also, they could've at least updated the graphics a little bit. :p
Ah well, at least it appears to be running in 16:9 widescreen. :) And the music's sweet too.

WOW!!! The earth is rolling back as you walk, like in MarioGalaxy!
The music is so cool. And I love that salon with the Mii faces.

It looked kind of foolish showing off the 9K of hits, even Cute Kitten DS has more than that. :P
