Forums - Nintendo - Why does everyone want Zelda the most for Motion Plus?

Motion Plus sounds like a great addition for sword games, or any game with more complicated motions.

But why is Zelda the number one game everyone keeps throwing out?

Do you really want a Zelda game where the sword action is 1:1?  As in, you swing your sword around and it does exactly what you do?

I think that might be kinda nice in some situations, but overall, I think that would detract from Zelda is, a puzzle-solving action-adventure game.  Maybe a mini-game would be ok, like Zelda Crossbow Training, or maybe have some segments inside the game, like dueling sections, where the sword action could be 1:1...but overall, it's my opinion that 1:1 sword action for Zelda is not necessary at all...it'd be more of a gimmick I think.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

because it would be cool to have the remote track your every move. it would also be cool in games like force unleashed or clone wars

I just dont know why everyone is crying about NO zelda in E3, but i no what you mean..i have a feeling there going to do something with 1-1 Sword fighting with zelda though...

How would it distract Zelda from what it really is ("a puzzle-solving action-adventure game") anymore than the fighting system already does?

Yeah, it'd be awesome in Zelda.

A majority of the time your main focus is not on defeating enemies in long, drawn out battles in Zelda games. A few simple slashes will do, so you're not going to need to pull off the elaborate motions 1:1 is capable of. Sure, it could be used in large battles, but how often do those show up? Unless the series radically shifts its focus in the next game, I agree with Ben.

Okami

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

It would be awesome in Zelda.

Also, it would make the game HARDER! Know how cool it would be to actually have to learn how to sword fight to get through a game? *drool*

Those people just want anything Zelda.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

oh god - you pulled out the gimmik word again.

...because swords are awesome. and btw - typical zelda games have a lot more to them than swords. hookshot, bow and arrow, boomarang, that big metal spiked ball thing, fishing... face it - nintendo coud do A LOT with zelda + motion plus.

Twilight Princess was an excellent game and all but the Wiimote controls felt a little tacked on at times.
