Yeah, the internet agrees, it's official, that sucked. MAG. I won't laugh at it, but I will spit a little for all the people pretending this game means something to them. If it was on the 360 they wouldn't care, and with good reason, it's just another generic wargame with a crap premise, except this time it has no story at all...and is a console mmo.

The only way its big enough to be considered an epic fail is if that was supposed to qualify as an announcement.

 

Where are the new games Sony. You cancel single player games, yet MAG exists. Unbelievable.

Agreed. I can't believe I bothered to watch that shit. Another FPS of all things!

FF13 still coming to PS3...also Versus...while Mag/Rfom2 are huge & exclusive


And no1 better say GeoW2>Rfom2 (heard me mrstickball? :P)

It's all up to preferences, and in my opinion GeoW may look cute, but Rfom blows it out of the water story/multiplayer wise

Why did Sony win again, exactly? Aside from the MMO (whoop-de-friggin'-doo, an MMO), we knew about all of these games already. All they did was feed the hype train with more coal, and people seem to be buying into it hook, line, and stinker.

MS still had the best conference, IMO.

No. Stop it. Sony did not win. Don't u know how bad all of u saying sony won make us PS3 owners look? MS won because of ffxiii, don't downplay their conference, don't downplay ffxiii and its importance, just accept it.

So it's not possible for a person to like MMO's more than JRPG's?

Take off the tunnel spectacles...

As a PS3 gamer with no interest in JRPG's or RPG's the FFXIII announcement means next to nothing to me. The announcment of a brand new MMO IP on the other hand, is very good news.

Sony won E3 in my view simply by showing a new title. If Microsoft had showed something -anything- new, they could have stolen the show.

I didn't watch the Nintendo conference, but judging by the reports of other posters, it was quite a let down.

Don't get me wrong, I think Microsoft won, but it wasn't because of the FF13 announcement.

@ZenfoldorVGI I always respected you for your astute observations and your well thought out posts. However I think you are being a little too unfair on Sony and particularly on Mag. I mean c'mon its still a concept, I understand there's no point in getting super excited about it, but how can you completely dismiss it?
That said, really there is nothing like 'winning' an E3, coz it does not matter in the long run. We all know that the Wii is still going to dominate the sales as it has managed to involve millions of first time gamers, it has opened up a completely new market segment which makes it very difficult to beat. However from a gamer POV I do feel that I respect Sony's approach a lot more after this E3 coz they are the ones who gave the most game-centric presentation. I also like how they have managed to build up so many high quality first party exclusives just in this generation alone.

Not at all. MS simply announced the most new and interesting stuff out of the three. And, while people knock Nintendo's conference, it isn't because they didn't announce anything new - it's because they didn't announce exactly what everyone wanted to hear.

As I said, the Sony conference was just much ado about nothing (and an MMO).
